i held her hand in mine, like i had been doing in the ambulance. it was quite in the room, you could only hear the frequent beeps of the heart monitor and our patterned breathing.

her fingernails were painted a pastel pink; they matched her current lip colour. her eyes and head were bandaged with white bandages that made her ghost like skin look slightly darker. i saw her hit her head pretty hard against the black leather steering wheel, but i had not known what happened to her eyes.

i had only seen one person's eyes bandaged up like hers were, my cousin grayson. he is blind now. i hoped that wasn't the case with her; she wouldn't be able to see her precious and delicate face or see her stupid pug that always barked at me when i passed by. she wouldn't see anything at all, including me.

i didn't know what to do, it was awkward and i was glad she was asleep. but at the same time, i wanted her awake and okay. i wanted her to see that i was here, that i needed her. and i knew it was selfish, she might be blind and i'm wanting her awake to see how much i loved her.

i sighed and let go of her hand, placing it over her lower stomach. i laid back in the uncomfortable chair, holding myself up with my lower back and my long legs wandered under the bed. i stared at her lips while the urge to kiss them grew.

i sat back up, elbows resting on my knees, contemplating if it was the right thing to do. i felt as if i were taking advantage but i couldn't help myself.

i stood up and bent over, my face inching close to hers by the second. i stopped nearly centimetres away from her. she was stunning, amazing, precious and any other synonym for beautiful.

i placed my lips right on the corner of her mouth, seeing as she was asleep, i didn't want to take advantage.

just as my lips were rising from her face, someone walked in and saw me.
