Even though yesterday I declined Jamie’s offer, he was still parked outside the diner leaning against the car door when my shift ended.
“Bye, Liana!” April winked as I walked out the building. Literally all day, she kept asking about Jamie and what we did. There was nothing to tell but of course she didn’t believe me.
I stared at the ground as I had to walk past Jamie and his truck. “You’re making it incredibly hard for me not to swoop you up and throw you in my car.” Jame stated as he strolled behind me.
“Yeah, well, it won’t be hard for me to call the cops.” There was a slight tugging of my ponytail. I turned back with a raised eyebrow.
“I like your hair when it’s down.” Jamie seemed really close as he pushed a string of my hair out of my face. “So only wear it down when we’re alone, okay?”
My eyes rolled as I turned my gaze away from him. I hated when he gave me that look. The look that symbolized he was more powerful than me and what he says goes.
“I try to avoid being with you alone.” I smiled at him, “So I doubt I’ll ever wear my hair down.” His right cheek lifted revealing the small indention. I thought his dimple was adorable...however, I would never tell him that.
“Angel,” Urgh, that accent. “Don’t tempt me, now.”
I glared into his eyes, “If I’m an Angel, you’re a demon.” He gave me “that” look again.
Feeling flushed suddenly, I looked away and pulled my hands behind my body. “I need you to go home and change into casual clothes. Wear shorts similar to the ones you wore yesterday. Oh, and don’t worry about makeup or anything like that. I’ll be at your house at exactly 5:15.”
He was basically giving me only fifteen minutes to get dressed! “Wait, I never said I was going with you….heck, I don’t even know where we’re going.”
As I spoke, he turned and began walking towards his car. “I told your mom and she already said it was fine.”
Oh yeah, I forgot about that part.
