I stared at the ceiling. Its been 3 days now. She should be back by tonight.
I got out of bed and walked into my brothers room to see him in there sleeping. I smiled and put the covers back over him and kissed his forehead.
I got up and started to walk out of the room when I heard my name being called.
"Sami wait." Said Jonah tiredly.
"Yes little bro?"
"Do you think mama is gonna be back soon?"he asked while rubbing his eyes.
I smiled and sat down next to him on his bed.
"Of course buddy. She wouldn't leave us forever." I told him.
He smiled and laid his head on my shoulder.
"How about, oh I don't know, maybe I make us some pancakes for breakfast?!"I asked him.
He got up quickly and started to jump up and down on his bed.
"Yes, Yes, Yes!" Jonah screamed while laughing.
I chuckled slightly at his cuteness. I held out my arms and Jonah jumped into them. I caught him and put him on the side of my waist and walked into the kitchen to make pancakes.
After I was done, Jonah and I sat at the table and started to eat. We didn't have very many ingredients to make pancakes, so we only have four pancakes total. I gave three to Jonah and I ate one.
"Don't you get two and I get two?" he said before eating.
"Your a growing boy, you need your strength. I will eat something else when mom gets home."
He didn't say anything else but he shrugged and chowed down like he hasn't eaten in days. I laughed as he got syrup all over his face and down the front of his shirt.
I picked him up and put him in the bathroom so he could take a bath. I washed our plates and put them back up in the cabinet.
I sat back down at the table and looked at the clock hoping time would fly by quicker. It was already 10:45 in the morning. Mom wouldn't be back until around 5.
I got up and looked out the window. All I could see was trees and the mountains. No sign of my mom.
I walked down the hall and ended up at my moms room. I opened up the door and walked inside. It was empty looking.
I'm use to walking in her room and smelling her perfume, but this time it just smelt like dust. I sat down on my moms bed and felt the soft fabric between my fingers.
I turned around and looked at the pictures on the walls.
I heard a voice that startled me and I turned around quickly while clenching my now paced heart.
