I couldn't help but watch Derek- ur, I mean agent Morgan, as we say in the waiting room. Honestly, I was terrified. I wasn't ready to start my whole life over again.
"Tia, I'm gonna fill you in on this process a little bit before Stacy comes out, okay?"
"Anything to ease the nerves," I giggled, watching a smile appear on Derek's face. I really needed to stop thinking of him as Derek. He's agent Morgan. My body guard. He's also a very handsome, single man. I was most definitely going to get myself in trouble. He moved to the seat closest to me.
"So basically, Stacy is going to give you a new look. She'll do your hair and teach you new ways to do your makeup. She'll prescribe you colored contacts that you'll have to wear everyday, and I stress that. Everyday. Once your new look is set into place, Apollo is going to fill you in on all the nitty, gritty title details of your past life."
"You're telling me I'm going to have to remember all of that?"
"Yes, Tia. It's very important that you do remember all of it. In case your families killer finds out where you are, you need to have your story straight every time you repeat it or else it's going to look suspicious."
"Great, my killer is going to find me. If I could remember everything that people told me, I would have been passing school with better grades." Derek couldn't help but laugh. It was true though. I had always had mostly C's in school.
"Yo I'll be fine. Plus, I'll be here with you for a few months to help you remember. By the time I leave, you'll have it memorized." Just then, a tall, thin lady with jet black hair walked out. She was pretty, but she needed to lay off the florescent orange lipstick.
"I'm guessing your Tia? Nice to meet you. I'm Stacy." She reached her hand out. It was weird; I was not use to shaking peoples hands.
"Well, I will leave you two ladies to get to it. Tia, if you need me, I'll be right here in this chair." I smiled as I started following Stacy into the makeover room.
"Go ahead and have a seat in that chair. First we'll cut and color your hair." Now I was really starting to freak out. She wants to cut my hair? It's only shoulder length as it is! And my blonde is going away? I don't know if I could handle this. My stomach was jumping all over the place. Either my nerves were really getting to me, or that Chinese food from last night didn't set right.
"You're cutting my hair..?"
"Well, yes, but no."
"What does that even mean?" I looked at her, hoping she would realize the confused look on my face.
"I'm going to give yoy permanent extensions, and then I'm going to style it."
"Oh, you're making my hair longer? SWEET!" I yelled. Probably a little too loud with a little bit too much excitement because next thing I knew, Derek was poking his head through the door.
"Is everything okay, ladies?"
"Yes, agent Morgan. Everything is just fine. Tia just got really excited about her makeover. Now, if you'll excuse us. You're not allowed to see her until she's finishes." I laughed. Stacy had a big grin on her face. It's almost like she knew I had a teeny crush on him.
"Alright, Tia, let's begin." After about a half an hour, Stacy had my hair styled and colored; we were just waiting for it to dry so we could see the finished look.
"While we're waiting for your hair to dry, let me show you some cool make up techniques so you'll look like a whole new person." I smiles at her.
"Okay, as long as we steer away from the florescent orange lipstick." She laughed, almost uncontrollably.
"I get it. You're not a huge fan of my lipstick. I saw you eyeing it when I walked out." Here comes the blushing again. Was it really that obvious?
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. It really does look good on you! I just wouldn't be a fan of it on myself."
"It's okay, sweetie. Everybody has their own style and taste. We'll do your makeup so it makes your eyes pop. You're a beautiful young girl as it is." That made me smile. This whole makeover thing was really helping me keep my mind off of the terrible events that had taken place. Stacy turned the chair facing away from the mirror. She really wanted it to be a surprise.
"First I'm going to start off with a simple, light colored blush. You have amazing skin so you really don't need much." I sat there as Stacy was working her magic. By the end, she had put a little bit of blush on, put black eyeliner on my top lid, a little bit of shiny eye shadow, some mascara to finish making my eyes pop, and last but not least, a light colored lip gloss. She turned the chair towards the mirror and watched me as I looked at myself. I looked like a whole new person. I now had long dark brown hair with side bangs, an amazing makeup job and I was getting blue contacts. I really was a new me.
"Are you ready to go show agent Morgan your new look? I'm sure you'll blow him away, and he'll have to take you on a date." She laughed.
"Is it really that obvious that I have a crush on him?"
"A little bit, but if I'm not mistaken, he looks at you like he might be interested." This was bad. We both had to be professional. Well I guess I didn't, but he did. I wonder if it would be frowned upon if he did catch feelings for me. Who knows. I got out of the chair and walked into the waiting room. Derek wasn't even paying attention; he had seen me walk out of the room, but it looked like it didn't register who I was.
"Woah, Tia?" His jaw dropped, which he instantly recovered from. Again, he had to be professional.
"Yup, that's my name, but not for long." We both laughed.
"Are you ready to go meet Apollo?"
"I sure am! Lead the way, boss man!" He had a slightly confused look on his face and then a smile came out. Off we went, back to the car.
----------------------------------------------I'm sorry if this chapter seemed a little dull! The next one will be better! Tia gets her new identity!! How exciting?! Leave your feedback!! It all means a lot to me!
