Saturday morning, I put on leggings and a oversized maroon sweatshirt with my converse and did my makeup the way i always did and tied my hair up in a bun.
"Mom!" I yelled as I walked down the stairs, with my phone and some money in hand.
"In the kitchen!" She yelled back and I followed her voice to find her sipping a cup of coffee and leaning against the counter looking at something on her laptop screen.
"Can you drive me somewhere?" I asked and poured myself a cup of coffee.
"Yes, where," She closed the computer screen and pushed it away when I was in view of what was on the screen before I could look.
"Uh, this smoothie place in town, I guess, I'm meeting a friend there,"
"Oh who? That boy from the other day?" She asked.
"Uh, Yeah," I said and sipped my cup, "Can you drive me?"
"Of course honey," She said and drank the last sip from her mug, "Let me just bring this back upstairs," She said and grapped her laptop from the couter and left me standing alone in the kitchen.
"Okay let's go," She said when she came back down and slipped her shoes on her feet and grabbed the car keys off the table.

When we pulled up to the side of the road, Ashton was standing outside with his hands in his pockets and hair blowing in the wind, looking out into the sky.
"Is that him?" Mom asked when we pulled up.
"Yeah," I said, "Bye mom," I said and climbed out of the car and watched as she drove away.
"Hey Taylor, I didn't even see you pull up," Ashton said when I walked over to him.
"It's ok, i'm just glad you're not mad at me anymore, you're really the only friend i've made since I got here," I said and shamefully looked at my feet, looking up when Ashton pulled me into a tight hug.
"Let's go inside," He said and let go of me and pulled me inside.
"I love this place, they make the best everything, smoothies, sandwiches, everything." I smiled at the way he rambled on about it.
We ordered our food and sat down to eat when the door opened and everyone's heads turned in that direction.
"Taylor! What a coincidence! What are you doing here?" Jack said when he walked over to me and Ashton's table, a girl i hadn't met following behind him.
"Ashton and I are just hanging out," I said hoping he would go away.
"Babe, I don't know why you keep hanging out with this loser, when you can hang out with me," He said and sat down in the chair next to me, throwing his arm around my shoulder. Basically forgetting all about the girl he brought with him.
"Listen asshole," Ashton said and stood up from his seat. Jack threw his hands up to surrender.
"Let it go, Ash, let's get out of here," I said grabbing out food and Ashton's hand and leading us to the door.
"Whatever Taylor! Remember this!" Jack yelled at us as we left.
"Fuck, I hate him so much!" Ashton yelled and kicked a car tire when we stepped outside and were far enough away from the restaurant windows.
"Why do you hate him so much?" I asked handing Ashton his sandwich as he took a sip from his smoothie.
"Just- fuck, just forget about it Taylor, you shouldn't be hanging out with him anyway."
