Four Years Later

Aimi's Pov: It has been four years since that incident happened when me and Xen first arrived in Anima City. Mayor Rose helped me out with the legal documents and paperwork, and me and my son became legal citizens of the city. I stayed with a family friend for a little while, at least until I had enough money to get an apartment for both me and Xen. I worked at a small restaurant as a waitress for a good while. Once I had enough, I bought an apartment that had a excellent view of the city and the water. It is a beautiful sight to behold, especially at the sunset and sunrise hours. The apartment is pretty nice too. It's got two bedrooms, a full bathroom, a working kitchen, and a balcony that watches over the glorious view. I still work as a waitress, but I it is now only part time. On most days, I still think about my family back on the mainland. My parents, my sister Yuki and my brother Juno, they still come across my mind. Oh, how I would dream of seeing them again, to hug them and tell them all the amazing things I did here in Anima City. But most of all, I would love for them to meet Xen, the little boy that they love and spent only a short amount of time with their grandson and nephew. I would love for my son to get to know his grandparents, aunt and uncle.

Speaking of Xen, he is now four years old and in preschool, a big boy with a bigger personality. He has greatly improved over the time he's been here in Anima City. By the time he was two months old, he became a natural at switching between human and beastman. He is also very smart, too. He is able to fix puzzles and read and write very well for his age. He is very sweet and caring, getting along very well with everyone he meets, though he does have a competitive steak. None the less, he plays fair with the other kids. Xen is also my little helper in the kitchen. He helps me out with making dinner sometimes, and at times breakfast. He asks from time and time again when he'll see his grandparents, uncle and aunt. My answer is always the same, hopefully soon. I still hold onto that hope, though, the hope of meeting my family again.

You might be wondering What about that wolf man you met that night? Well, truth be told, I haven't seen him since that incident. I will admit, it kind of saddens me, but I also kind of figured that he wasn't much of a social type and just didn't want to be around a lot of people. Whatever the case may be, even though I've never met him properly, I'll forever be grateful to him for saving mine and Xen's lives that night. Although, I always do feel a presence close by. Have it be when I'm walking to the store, to work, even outside my window sometimes. It's almost as if I have some kind of guardian angel watching over us. What I didn't know, was that guardian angel is more real than I realized.
