Premise: L'manberg AU. After the Festival, you confront Schlatt as he's about to kill Nikki, sticking to your promise and coming back for her.

Trigger warnings: Really, really, really short (sorry), mentions of murder, swearing and basically the author simping for women

Y/N's POV

"You... You killed him!" My heart stopped as I heard Nikki's voice. I'd remained hidden for the whole festival, camped close, should I need to intervene. I'd tried to get there to stop Techno from putting an end to Tubbo, but it all happened so fast. I was too late. He was gone.

I saw Tommy's eyes scanning for me desperately as it happened... But I couldn't show myself. I made a concrete plan. Today. Today, I'd fulfil my promise and come back for Nikki. I would bring her back to Pogtopia. Away from Schlatt's tyrannical rule.

"Yeah I did kill him, Nikki, what the hell do you want?" Schlatt sounded bored.

"How could you do that?!" She sounded like she was crying. The emotion in her voice broke me. "After everything he'd done for you!"

Every mention of the small brunette cut deeper, leaving a trail of guilt to my brain. My fault. My fault.

"You've been a thorn in my side from day one." I inched closer, peering through the vines I was hiding behind. I didn't like the tone of Schlatt's voice.

"I DON'T EVEN WANT TO BE HERE!" Nikki screamed, voice cracking. That was the final straw for me. I unsheathed my sword coolly, walking out of my hiding place, face stony.

"Nikki, please sit down..." Quackity was quiet, but determined. I silently thanked him for his attempt to help her. If she drew more attention to herself Schlatt would only make her fate worse. I began to walk down the centre aisle, treading lightly. My breath misted in the September air, making my presence more obvious. They hadn't seen me yet, too focused on Schlatt and what he would do to Nikki.

"There's only one day to deal with thorns on roses. Cut. Them. Off." Schlatt vaulted seamlessly off the podium, drawing an iron sword. My breath hitched in my throat as he stalked forwards, an agonisingly happy grin on his face. It took my to the point where he had drawn the blade to her throat before I reacted.

"Get the fuck away from my girlfriend." I hissed lowly.

All eyes snapped to me, widening.

"Y/N. The other blemish of Manberg." He raised an eyebrow.

"I think you mean, L'manberg." I retorted.

"How touching. Someone needs to let go of the past."

"I let go of the past when you let go of Nikki. I promised I'd be back for her. And believe me, I always keep my promises." I narrowed my eyes, gripping my Netherite sword tightly.

"Aw look, lover girl wants revenge." Schlatt mocked. "Well you know what they say about revenge. Best served cold." He added.

"Your bloody body will be cold when I pound it into the fucking floor!" I yelled.

"You insolent little bitch-" The sound of a slap resonated through the audience. Nikki struck Schlatt hard, face ablaze with fury.

"How dare you talk to her like that!" The blonde screamed, hysterically. She ran to me side, and I put a protective arm around her.

"Listen, Schlatt. You can fight me if it will make you feel better, but everyone here will tell you that I will win. No matter what fight, what war, I will always win. You know why?" I shot.

"Oh do enlighten me."

"Because I'm fighting for something I love. If I were you, I'd let us go. Now." I finished.

"This isn't over." The President said, lowering his sword.

"Believe me. I know."

I linked my hand with Nikki's, leading her away. We were silent until the two of us reached the border of L'manberg, where she pulled me into a sweet kiss.

"You came back!" She breathed happily, pressing her forehead to mine.

"No shit." I chuckled.

"Thank you." She smiled widely.

"Don't worry, I always come back."
