olivia hye's pov
"wanna walk home together?" i turn to my right to see choerry leaned up against the locker next to mine.
"choerry my answer is the same as yesterday, no." i respond, shoving my books into my locker. i see her pout in my peripheral making me fasten my pace at putting my things away, if i stay any longer i just might accept her request.
"why? we literally live across from each other, don't you want company?" she questions me, i sigh.
"no choerry, i don't, now if you excuse me i'll be heading home." i softly push her away from me and head towards the front of the school. since this isn't the first time i've rejected her offer, she stays at the lockers waiting for me to exit before making her own way home. as i'm walking on the sidewalk i look behind me to see how far she is, only when i turn around, she's not behind me like she usually is. i stop in my tracks for a moment and wonder why she isn't a couple yards behind me. she probably went to a class. with that i turn around and continue my way home.

as soon as i see choerry in the halls the next day i immediately duck my head down, hoping she won't see me, but you don't always get what you want in life.
"HYEJOO!" i hear her yell making me grimace slightly. i turn around and see her skipping to my direction.
"hey yerim." she beams happily after hearing my greeting. "hi! did you do the biology homework?" she asks me, surprising me a little.
"nope." i say nonchalantly. she furrows her eyebrows a little and frowns at me. "hyejoo, you need to do your homework, you have a low D for that class so you shouldn't be skipping the homework." my cold exterior slightly breaks when i see the concern in her eyes, i let out a sigh.
"i know i know, i'm sorry choerry, i'll do it from now on okay?" i tell her, after hearing this her smile comes back to her face. her concern for me making me smile a little.
"you promise?" she holds her pinky out to me, i hesitate. should i lie? no i can't do that, this is choerry we're talking about. after much hesitance i wrap my pinky around hers.
"i promise."

"can we please walk home together?" yerim shows her puppy eyes to me, and i have to look away so i won't cave in.
"why do you always wanna walk home together?" i ask a bit irritated, closing my locker. i face choerry and notice how tensed she looks after i asked that question.
"w-well i told you yesterday, i think it's just better to walk together since our houses are right there." she plays with her fingers nervously, i huff making her look up at me.
"what's the real reason?" i stare at her and she tenses even more.
"that is the real reason, there's nothing else." she tells me and i start getting irritated.
"no choerry, that isn't the reason. we may not be really close, but i know when you're lying, and i don't like being lied to yerim. so tell me, what's the real reason?" i step closer to her, glaring down at her. she stares at the floor for a while before speaking up.
"there is no other reason hyejoo." she says quietly. i scoff loudly at that.
"don't speak to me until you can tell me the real reason choerry. you know, i actually thought we were becoming closer. but everytime you ask to walk home, i can't help but ask why. why must you ask me this everyday, for the past few months! i'm getting tired of it choerry! no, i don't wanna walk home with you! i just want you to leave me alone!" i shout at her, completely letting my anger take over. only when i look into her eyes and see tears welling up do i realize what i said.
