I wake up, and my head hurts. I seem to be in a hospital room. I try to remember why I'm here. Now that I think about it, I can't remember anything. I can't even remember my name. I press the nurse call button and say: "Hello, could someone please tell me why I'm here and why my head hurts so much?" "Oh, Mr. Fitzgerald, you're awake!" A female voice responds in surprise. "Um, you're here because we had to perform an emergency craniotomy on your frontal lobe. Unfortunately, it was broken beyond repair. In fact, you're lucky that you can even speak fluently!" She says. "Don't worry. We'll send in one of your emergency contacts to talk to you. Unfortunately, we couldn't contact your father, but we were able to contact a family friend." She says. "Okay, thanks Ms." I say. Then I hear the connection being terminated. "What kind of last name is "Fitzgerald?" I mutter to myself.
A man walks into the room, and he looks familiar. "Hello Jeremy." The man says. I assume he's the "family friend" the nurse mentioned, since he's dressed more like a mechanic than a doctor. "Um, hello. Sorry, I can't remember your name." I say. "That's fine, Jeremy. I didn't really expect you to, anyway." He says. "So, my name is Jeremy? Thats nice to know. What's your name?" I ask. "My name is Henry, Henry Emily." He says. His name sounded really familiar. I tried to remember where I'd heard it before. Suddenly, my head starts to hurt. I clutch my head. "Jeremy, are you okay?" Henry asks. "Um, yeah. Something about trying to remember your name just made my head hurt." I say. "Well, I'm no doctor, but I would think you shouldn't try to remember anything just a mere month after surgery." Henry says. "That being said: I'm sorry about reminding you of my name." Henry adds. "It's fine. I was the one that asked." I say. "However, you should at least know your full name. Just don't think about it too much." Henry says. "Okay, I won't." I say. "Okay, your full name is Norman Jeremy Fitzgerald." Henry says. "Okay, thank you Henry... But, aside from my many questions that I want to ask you about my past-" I start to say. "There's one that I think I need to know." I continue. "Where is my family, or my house?" I ask. "I'm afraid I have no idea where your family is, Jeremy. But I do know where your house is!" Henry says. "In fact, I'll give you the address for when you can get up!" Henry says, before writing the address on a sticky note and putting it on the hospital bed. "Thank you so much Henry. You've been such a big help." I say. "You're welcome, Jeremy." He says. He then looks at his watch and a look of realization forms on his face. "Oh, well, sorry to cut this short, Jeremy, but I'm afraid I have to get to work. I hope you get better soon." Henry says before he pats me on my shoulder and walks out of my hospital room. "Bye Henry." I say. "Bye Jeremy." Henry says before closing the door.
