"Can you do one where Betty is the northside princess and Jughead's the Serpent king, and their relationship is a secret on the northside, but not on the south? Everyone loves Betty on the southside and when the Southside High gets shut down, they go to the Riverdale High and surprise the northsiders when Betty jumps into his arms and is greeted by all the Serpents. (Please add in some Jughead being a softie towards Betty 'cause he's whipped.)"
Betty walked out of the school building with her floral schoolbag thrown over her shoulder and was about to climb down the few steps of stairs when she realized it was raining. Smiling slightly, she stuffed her phone into her pocket and turned her head to see her best friends complaining. With an eye roll, she grabbed Kevin's hand.
"Come on, your dad's right there," she said.
Veronica gave them a wave and ran toward her driver who was waiting for her with an umbrella. Her high heels clicked against the ground, and even though Betty couldn't hear it through the buzz of the crowd, she smiled, imagining how it would've sounded if she were there alone.
"Stop being all giddy, Betty. It's rain. It's wet," Kevin said and tugged his hand free from hers, a pout playing on his lips.
"You're gonna get to your car in ten seconds, Kev."
"Can't he just drive closer?" the boy whined.
"You always tell him not to," the blonde reminded him when observing the police car the sheriff, Kevin's dad, was waiting in.
The boy sighed and finally turned to her. "You want a ride?"
"Nope, my sister will be here any minute," Betty said, a smile playing on her lips.
"Alright. See you tomorrow." Kevin pecked her cheek and hurried toward the car.
The girl watched him drive away alongside many other cars. Usually, parents didn't pick up their high school-aged kids, but in the rain, almost everyone did. Though, of course, her mom and dad were still working as always. They didn't care how cold or uncomfortable the walk would be. And while it saddened Betty usually that they didn't even think of her in situations like this, mostly because she was the youngest and not that important in her family, at this particular moment, she felt joy bubbling up in her chest.
Fishing her phone from her pocket again, she stepped out of the way of other students and leaned against the wall, the roof still protecting her from the harsh hits of the rain. Opening the only message she had received during the day, she bit her lip to shield the smile.
Betts, my dad's got the truck. Pea will pick you up where we usually meet xx
Smirking at the fact that she could enjoy Sweet Pea's company the whole way to the Wyrm, Betty pushed her phone back into her back pocket and tucked the new Vixen choreography papers under her arm, sheltering it with her jacket. She started hurrying through the rain, a small frown on her face.
The girl adored the rain usually, but this time it was so strong and harsh that it hurt her cheek when the raindrops splattered against her face. After speeding out of the parking lot, Betty glimpsed both ways and crossed the road, before running toward the small café in a tiny side street.
She noticed the old blue car immediately, hurried to it, and jumped inside. Flinging the door shut, she shuddered and relaxed in the warm seat before looking over at the older boy on the driver's seat who was grinning at her.
"Hey, bug. Good day at school?"
Betty gave him a smile and exhaled her warm breath onto her hands before rubbing them together. "Yeah, it was okay," she chuckled. The blonde buckled up and faced Sweet Pea for a second before frowning and turning to the buttons of the car. Her fingers played with a few of them and turned the heating to the bottom, still shivering from her wet clothes and the freezing air outside.
