I will Avenge and Find my Father

Chapter One

"I hate you !!!!" I screamed at my mom who was seated before me on the throne . The same throne dad used to sit on . It hasn't even been a complete week as yet and she's already talking about changes things as if they're not okay just the way dad left them .

"Honey, I understand your still grieving about your dad but ......."

" Nonsense !...." I snapped at her "... you don't understand a thing ,all you care about is taking over and having everyone suck up to your pathetic ass and your stupid ,nonsensical instructions."

"You better start showing some respect young lady. Whether you like it or not ,things around here will change and you will have to live with and abide by these changes."

By this time my hands were already clenched in a tight fist and tears filled my eyes ,blurring my vision .
I watched as all twelve guards ,six lined up on each side leading from the throne to where I was currently standing remained attentive and upright during the whole conversation . Not one moment did they show any sign of emotion.

My brother ,Kane the II was also in an upright position to the right of mom but his head was bowed making it hard for me to decipher what his current emotions are.

It's tradition for the first son of the King to be named after his father but I find it pointless as dad and him are in no way alike. My brother Kane is slim built. He has goldish hair and a plain green tail with the exception of his fins which had combination of green and yellow,almost matching his hair.

I still can't come to terms with the fact that mom is moving along like nothing happened and dad didn't even exist . Just the thought of it increased my anger and pain to its maximum .

"I think loving you was the biggest mistake of dad's life !" I shouted in anger at my mom before swimming out of the throne room and away from the palace .

I glimpsed the hurt on her face at the mention of my words but I could care less . She was not making the situation any easier for me . I swam until I could no longer feel my tail and so I surfaced for some fresh air . I could feel myself relax as I took in the fresh air and admired my surroundings . There weren't any birds or flying thing in sight but the beautiful blue sky was enough to be an awesome scenery .

Kane's POV
I listened keenly as mom and Kylie has their convo in the throne room . I was standing to the right of her with my head bowed as I couldn't allow Kylie to see how ashamed and defeated I am .
I know she'll only continue to say that I'm weak and an embarrassment to father's name but what does she expect me to do. Since dad went missing I've been moms second tail in her daily endeavours . I can't say I wasn't becoming annoyed . I'm not ready for all these responsibilities that  comes with ruling a kingdom full of merpeople. I'm still only 17 and I would have loved to enjoy the remaining time I have until I'm 18 to be a teen and free from all 'this'.
Although I wasn't looking at my sister, I could tell she was crying.I could hear the pain in her voice . I just hope she doesn't say anything too harsh to mom,I'm getting tired of cleaning up her mess now.

As if on cue I heard Kylie screamed " I think loving you was the biggest mistake of dad's life !"
Shocked by her statement I raised my head but only saw her tail leaving the throne room swiftly. As I stared at the closed door my sister went through moments ago,the sound coming from my right caught my attention.
Mom was silently sobbing . She held her small face in the palm of her hands but I could hardly see her face as it was hidden by her long brown hair .

"Mom ,please bare with her a bit . You know how she gets when dad isn't around."

" I know son and that's what I fear..."she said in between sobs, "no matter how hard I try I can't seem to get through to her."

"I'll talk to her mom ,please stop crying."

"I can definitely get used to this place . It's going to be my cool out spot ,"I thought to myself .
After admiring the beauty above surface I came upon a cave seated on the sea floor. On first approached it seemed dark and spooky but when I ventured inside ,it wasn't as bad as I thought .
The cave had an almost circular opening. Inside ,the cave walls were covered with fresh green sea weeds . The farther in I went ,the cave's width increased. Surprisingly there was nothing there just a plain old dark cave but what made it cool was the fact that from the outside it only looked like a small rock.
I found a comfortable area at the entrance of the cave and with my beautiful purple tail on the inside of the cave and my head poked outside I watched the fishes as they swam above and around me on their merry way .
