Kim's POV
It was a dewy spring morning in what seemed to be late February but was actually early May due to the sharp chill in the air as a sleepy little Shetland sheepdog yawned lazily and stretched herself awake, "another day to spend playing with my friends!" she thought excitedly, running to her food bowl to inhale her breakfast of wet dog food. It was around 9am and the sun was deceivingly bright tricking the young pup into thinking it would be a nice warm day but despite her thick coat she shivered when the front door was opened and her mother took her down to the puppy training school before heading off to work herself.
"I wonder what we're going to be learning today, I hope it isn't boring like 'sit' and 'stay', I want to run free" she said to her best friends Alex, Amy and Sarah who were a Pomeranian, a German Shepard and a cocker spaniel respectively.
"I hope it's fetch" barked Sarah excitedly as that was her favourite activity.
" I want it to be wrestling, I'm itching to fight someone" replied Amy already in a fighting stance.
"Well whatever it is I'm going to out do all of you in it" Alex spoke, an air of confidence in her voice, she was a purebred pup destined for greatness and the self proclaimed leader of this merry band of eager puppies.
It turns out they were going to be exploring the forest and learning all about the wonders of nature which was music to the girls' ears they loved school trips and one out in the wilderness sounded like the best adventure in the world!

Ray's POV
The shrill sound of puppies barking woke him up out of his cozy mid afternoon nap and the tiny black and white tuxedo kitten meowed in annoyance at the loud disturbance coming from his back garden, he lapped up some water and wandered outside to inspect the noise from afar "don't they know I need 16 hours of sleep a day good lord" he thought making a mental note to find a quieter place to sleep when he went back indoors, maybe the washing basket would be comfy and warm with fresh clothes straight from the tumble dryer. He finally made it to the back wall of his garden that was large for a young cat such as him and after much deliberation, slipped through a crack in the brickwork leading him out to a sprawling forest in the midst of blooming with the fresh and vibrant colours of spring and was immediately taken aback with the sheer size and wonder of the world outside his once endlessly large but now much more medium sized home.
He thought about turning back and leaving the annoyingly loud creatures alone to do their business but the squeaky yaps rang in his ears once again and he steeled himself to finally meet the perpetrators and settle things once and for all.

Kim's POV
"WOOHOO LOOK AT ALL OF THESE TREES AND OOOOOH IS THAT A STICK?!" the sheepdog shrieked happily and bounced around with so many things to sniff but not enough noses to do the job properly. "I LOVE NATURE!!"
"The woods are so pretty, I want to stay here forever" said Sarah in almost silent awe at the flowers that were sprinkled through the grass like the worlds most floral cupcake.
"I KNOW LOOK HOW CUTE THIS YELLOW ONE IS!" Kim stuck her snout into a buttercup and took a big sniff, sneezing as the pollen shot up her nose and straight back out again, "Kiiiiim you're going to ruin them by being so heavy pawed all the time", she laughed sheepishly at Sarah's remark knowing that she was probably right but not ready to accept it just yet".
Just then Amy tackled her to the ground and the pair growled and barked as they rolled around and playfully fought amongst the new flower buds "Ha ha got you!" Exclaimed Amy triumphantly as she bonked Kim on the head and claimed her victory "No fair you caught me off guard, I'll get you this time" Kim fought back getting ready to attack when she spotted a pair of large eyes watching them from behind a log.

Ray's POV
The noise grew louder as he drew ever closer to whoever ruined his perfectly good nap and Ray decided to play it safe and watch from afar to stalk his prey just like he had seen the big cats do in the nature documentaries that played occasionally on tv, so he found a log and hid behind it, poking his head over so that he could see the group of around 10 hyper puppies of various shapes and sizes being shown various leaves and twigs by their almost human teachers. "There are so many here I wonder if they're friendly?" He thought to himself "I would also like to learn about this strange new world" his thoughts were roughly shaken from his head by two puppies roughhousing which made him regret his previous thoughts immediately and he turned to leave but found he was too intrigued to fully commit to the idea of going back home and he watched the fight unfold until the larger brown and black pup won.
Just then he met the eyes of the loser of that fight and his cover was well and truly blown "oh no, this can't be good" the thought as he heard the words "WAIT! What are you woodland creature?" Ring out through the rustling leaves.

Nobody's POV
Kim made a break for the log running as hard as she could and promptly tripping over it , flopping down beside the timid kitten frozen in place but fully prepared to run if the larger being got back up which she did scuffed but ultimately unharmed "H-Hi there I'm Kimberly!" The pup spoke softly but wonder and excitement bubbled up through her words. "Am I about to die, good god I'm going to get eaten" thought Ray franticly as the mucky pup sniffed him and barked in ways he couldn't understand "uuuuh my name is Raymond and I am not a woodland creature I'm a cat" he stood proudly but still obviously scared as his thick fluffy fur stood on edge "Well Raymond the cat you can call me Kim and these are my friends Alex, Amy and Sarah would you like to join our class and learn about the woods?" The group of pups had him surrounded so semi-reluctantly Ray nodded his head hopped up on the log "As long as you keep your distance though okay?" "Of course new friend!" Kim said as she gave him a big hug "Let's all go and learn about the squirrels"
