The first round was a simple play. Day-Z was a favorite of mine, which gave me a decent fighting chance. I eliminated two other competitors within the first five minutes, and another died to poor choices.

Around ten minutes into the match I ran into the fifth top player, she was a kind person, so the two of us decided to team up and survive. From there it was easy. After getting her on my team, the game was over quick.

Five minutes after we teamed up we ran into the fourth and sixth top players, and picked them off with ease. From there we hid and waited for any poor soul to run into us. When it came down to thirteen it was a while before the last player died, but when they did it signaled the end of the first round of competitions.

I stood up and stretched in between the first and second round. It took a total of forty-five minutes for it to come to a close, which was twice as fast as I had thought, or had hoped it would take.

There was a small distance between me and the girl I had teamed with so I jogged over, and thanked her. Her game name was AngelicDemon, but everyone called her by her real name, which was Jamie.

When I expressed my gratitude she stood up and got close to my face. I could feel her breath on my neck, as she was slightly shorter then me. “Don’t mention it Anonymous.” The way she said it was playful and cute. She gave me a light kiss on the cheek and sat back in her chair, “We should talk later.”

I was about to respond when I noticed that it was time for the next round to start up. The 6th, 4th, 17th, 12th, 20th, 19th, 10th, and 18th tops were the casualties and eliminated players. When the new standings went up, they would be arranged as the last eight by how long each lasted.

After their numbers and names were taken off a list of contenders a bracket board scrolled across the screens of all the players. I saw the names changing and arranging. After a few seconds of waiting the scrambling ceased and the teams for round two were announced.

I scanned through the board before I found my name. I was to be with the 3rd top player. Any teams we faced were sure to be crushed. Thankfully enough five was on the other side of the bracket; therefore I would not have to eliminate her.

However, when I saw her partner I thought she was about to kill herself. She had Dillon as her partner. I laughed to myself. None of the others liked Dillon or James. They were respected as big players, but they were far from liked.

I got into the chat room with three and we began to speak strategy. Between the two of us we had all three levels of range taken care of. He was a good long-range player, and I was gifted with short to medium range. It truly was a great set up for us.

I watched as the teams were set up with their first round opponents. First would me James and his partner versus me and mine. When we first spawned into the arena I let a cold smile spread across my face.

The idea of creaming James and crushing his idea of becoming a high-ranking player pleased me very much. I turned on my microphone to communicate with my member, “Hello Django. We must work hard in this fight. I would like to see to it that 11th gets his butt handed to him.” I said over the microphone.

“Ha-ha Anonymous, you really are pretty competitive.” He laughed, but I could hear that he agreed with my idea. No one liked 11 and 8. It only made sense that he would share my problems.

As the seconds counted down I got more and more antsy with anticipation. When the final buzzer went off I rushed around the map, using the exo abilities to maneuver myself around the map, getting headshots, and kills with every bullet I fired.
