The colors of winter had taken over the small town of Applegate. The white flakes of snow sticking to the ground. The city hidden from the world, a little safe haven. Children running around laughing, the sound of the skaters boards going down the freshly salted roads. The streets seemed busier today. A type of happiness had floated around the air as it seemed calm around the area.

This year was particularly a freeing year as most of the deadliest town folk had gone off to Scotland. They had been out of the area leaving everyone to enjoy there breaks amongst each other. With out a fear for some cars racing down the road, or someone saying something wrong and ended up disappearing.

The school hallways had been more relaxed. Each teenager taking there time between classes. Each one finding themselves lost in conversations they can finish this time. Everyone was enjoying there free sparing moment to be normal.

Even though some danger still lurked hidden to most. However most of these people left behind where hear in order to watch over there more feeble friends. Make sure that nothing happened in the town. They where the protection hidden amongst everyone else.

They didn't fight quite as well as the bigger guys, but they can hold there own and do some damage. Which is why they where trusted enough to stay back. Scotland would get the help they needed and others would be here to keep the town safe.

"I don't understand how you can even trust that, I mean what if they don't come back?" Kristi's voice had spoke through the hallway. The blonde next to her only seemed to be bubbling with a new found glow that nobody had seen coming. In the moments one of her best friends was MIA she had been reminiscing in the memories. For a week the two girls found themselves a little lost with out the third friend to make them whole.

"You're all about what if's right now Kristi. They'll be back, they always come back." Caroline had spoken her confidence in her friend was high. She knew her well enough to know she would be coming home. She would find her way back to the place she grew up. She always did after all.

"Sorry, doubt just seems to cloud my mind. They're going to be gone for two months Care. They think that the situation was way worse then when they first went over there." Kristi states as she had glanced over to the blonde. Though the glowing brightness to her never faltered for her friends.

"They'll make it out, believe me they're smart." Caroline states as Kristi had stopped by her locker. Her eyes glanced to her friend.

"What if it is way worse then what they thought? What if they end up hurt or something?" Kristi spoke, Caroline knew where this nervousness came from. Kristi was here helping watch the kids. She was nervous that there father wouldn't return. That there aunt and uncle would be gone or lost. Caroline didn't think Kristi would be able to manage that loss in her life.

Caroline had sat next to her phone, it had already passed the three month mark of the group being gone. The town had a light her air around it. Everyone seemed to be a little more free around here. Kristi had slowly eased into getting a normal going with the kids. The house stayed clean while the duo had stayed there.

"Andy said that they're trying to get home next month but even Dove says they don't see that happening. Whoever is hacking the system is good. Maybe a little too good right now for them." Caroline states as she had sat on the bed, she had only heard from the group once or twice in the last month. Chance tries to call regularly to talk to his kids, but even then the connection cuts in and out.

"So what another month added on? They'll be calling to say a year next month." Kristi states, her legs had been curled around her as Caroline had flickered her eyes up.
