Chapter Two

Enny was really nervous about the dance, she knew she wanted to go but she didn’t know what made her feel nervous inside.

-Ding Dong-

          “Good morning Ms. Baxter.”

          “Good morning Sasha, Enny will be out any minute or you can just go up to her room.”

“Enny are you ready? We’ll miss the bus!”

“I’m done.”

“No you’re not! You haven’t put on your socks and shoes. What are you still doing?”

Enny was at her desk drawing.

“What are you drawing Enny? Wow but that is really good. What is it for?”

“Thanks, I entered a drawing contest and I got caught up in drawing.”

“Speaking of caught up, we are late for our bus!” Sasha yelled.

“Oh jeez, where’s my bag?”

“It’s over there, hurry!”

Enny and Sasha ran out of the house, hurrying to catch up to time. Their school bus just came.

“Phew...that was close.” Enny laughed and got on the bus.

“If we missed the bus, we would have been toast in Mr. Fredrick’s class.” Sasha said almost scared.

They both laughed and sat down.

As they arrived at school, Sasha remembered,

“Enny? Did you ask your parents? Did they say yes?”

“Yes, I remembered. Yes, I asked my parents and yes, they let me go!” Enny replied Sasha

 “Yay, awesome. I can’t wait. Do you have a dress?”

“Of course I do. Do you?”

“Yup, tonight is all planned out in my head.” Sasha started as they both walked to their lockers. “Get to the dance, eat and eat and eat.”

Enny laughed and opened her locker and grabbed her books.

-Ring Ring-

“Time for class now everyone. Hey you...no running in the hallway!” Mr. Fredrick Yelled at a boy running to class.

“Well we better enter class now before Mr. Fredrick gets in first.” They both laughed and walked in the door of their class.

Enny brought out her book and kept writing about her made up perfect dream guy.

“Enny! You’re gonna get that seized from you and read to the entire class. Put it away for now!” Sasha whispered to Enny.

“Now class, today we are on topic 5 in the textbook. Photosynthesis, can anyone tell me what that means?”

Enny put up her hand to answer.

“Yes Enny?”

The class went on. After period four, the lunch bell rang.

Sasha and Enny always go out of school for lunch so they always bring lunch money.

“Ready?”

“Yeah, ready. Let’s go.” Enny replied Sasha as they walked out the school doors.

“What are we getting today?”

“Our usual. Caramel crunch Frappuccino and a burger. Same for you?” Enny replied.

“Yes of course,” Sasha’s eyes grew wide. “Who’s the guy?”

“Um...some random person who doesn’t know you and also comes here to buy lunch for himself?”  Enny replied searching for her wallet in her jacket.

“But a cute random guy though.” Sasha replied and laughed.

“What can I get you ladies?” the lady at the counter asked ready to punch in some stuff on the computer.

“A caramel crunch Frappuccino and a burger please.” Sasha replied the lady.

“Next person.” The other lady on the other side called out and Enny went over there to order

“I’ll have a caramel crunch frappuccino and a burger without cheese please.”

“That'll be $4.80.”

Enny kept looking for where she kept her wallet.

“I just have to find my-” Enny muttered.

 “Are you okay there?” A voice came from behind her.

“Oh, I just lost my wallet or it fell or I didn’t actually take it with me. I’m not too sure.” Enny replied still looking.

“That’s alright, I’ll pay for you.” The person behind her said. “Here you go..” He gave $4.80 to the lady at the front.

“What? I don’t know you. Strangers don’t pay for my lunch you know. Thanks for the help but I’ll just go ask my friend over there.” Enny replied and looked up at the face. He looked like a young person, like a teen.

“It’s okay. I have already paid for it for you. I get the same lunch you’re getting every day.” The boy replied Enny and smiled at her.

“Thanks but-” Enny was interrupted

“Caramel crunch frappuccino and a burger!” the lady at the edge called out.

“Well, that’s your call. You’re welcome.” He smiled and moved forward in the line ready to order.

 “Thanks a lot.” Enny replied and tried to smile back at a stranger who just bought her lunch.

“Who was that?” Sasha asked as they walked out the door.

“I really don’t know but he bought me lunch.”

“Huh? Why?” Asked Sasha a little bit confused.

“I lost my wallet and this stranger just offered to buy me lunch.” Enny replied still smiling a bit.

“That’s really nice of him. We better find your wallet.” Sasha said and they kept walking to the school’s game field where the bleachers were out. They sat there and ate their lunch and talked about different things.
