Chapter Nine

“Good morning Enny.” Adam came to Enny's house after breakfast.

 “Hey. I gotta talk to you.” Enny said to Adam.

“Sure, about?”

“It’s about Hilary. She was telling me about not talking to you anymore and I didn’t know why. She just doesn’t want me hanging with you.” Enny said as they walked out to the stop.

“Really? Are you just making that up?” Adam asked

“No, why would I? You don’t believe me...do you?” Enny looked at Adam.

“I want to but I don’t see why Hilary would say that, she’s nice to you but you can’t be nice back?”

The bus arrived.

“I’m your best friend, Adam, I won’t just tell you lies?” Enny confronted Adam.

“When Hilary told me about how you glared at her yesterday, I didn’t believe her but now...I see why.” Adam walked into the bus.

“What? No, she was the one-....never mind.” Enny gave up trying to talk to Adam.

Adam shook his head and looked away.

Enny sat alone on the bus, Sasha got a ride from her father because they had breakfast together and so he dropped her off at school.

After the exams were over,

“I hate having our exams on the same day, but lucky us we get only two-” Sasha noticed Enny's face.”Are you okay?” she asked

“I told Adam about what Hilary told me yesterday and he said I was making up the story. He didn’t believe me and now he’s mad at me.” Enny looked sad.”I did the same with Kyle, I told him that Rachel was gonna dump him but guess what...They are still together. I am terrible.”

“No Enny, you’re not terrible, you did what you thought was right and I believe you about Hilary and Rachel. Cheer up.” Sasha sat by Enny’s locker with her.

After the exam, Adam went home to rest.

“Adam, we need to talk.”

“I’ve got to-”

“Now!”

“Are you okay?” Adam asked.

“Not really, I don’t want you hanging with Enny anymore. She is mean to me and I dislike her.” Hilary snapped.

“Um, okay. Can’t we work this out?” Adam tried to talk her down but she refused.

“I love you Adam and I don’t want her or anyone getting in between us okay?” Hilary smiled and kissed Adam on the cheeks.

“O-Okay.” Adam felt so confused. He went to hang with BJ at his house.
