There was once a lightbulb. He was always happy, always so bright. The lightbulb often wondered what the rest of the world looked like, considering he couldn't exactly move. But through all of his ponderings, he would always keep a cheery and happy demeanor, a smile always on his face.

Being the brightest, he did have a few friends. But others were also very envious of the lightbulbs brightness. He was often made fun of for his farfetched dreams of seeing the rest of the world. Then something amazing happened, his lamp was moved in front of a window. The lightbulb looked out in awe at the giant masses of brown with bits of green hanging off that towered over everything. He excitedly looked over to his friend who he talked about his dream of seeing the world to. Overjoyed, he looked to his friend to tell him his dream, or at least a part of it, came true. But as he looked over, he noticed his friend had gone dark. Still bearing a smile, he calls out to his friend, figuring he shut himself off to rest a bit. He calls out once more, smile fading a bit and a hint of worry in his voice. The lightbulb then came to a realization...

        His friend had burned out.
