They visited the petrified Hermione as they stood by her bedside.
"Wish you were here, Hermione." Harry told her.
"We need you. Now more than ever." He said.
"Yeah... without ya... we'd be the three stooges." You told her in a sad tone.
"What's that?" Ron asked as you looked to see Harry holding a piece of paper.
"Guys... this is why Hermione was in the library the day she was attacked." He said as he quickly sprinted out of the infirmary as you and Ron followed him.
He reads out a page about "The Basilisk" as it has all the traits that were seen by the boys previously, why the spiders were afraid of it, why everyone's getting petrified, The Basilisk is the beast that lurks within The Chamber of Secrets! That's why he can hear it speak because it's a snake! But there's still a question if it kills by looking people in the eye, why is it that no one's dead?
"Oh wait!" You said
"Hermione saw through her mirror, Justin, one of the victims of The Basilisk before Hermione, must've seen it through Nearly Headless Nick, Nick had direct eye-contact but he can't die again, Collin saw it through his camera, and Mrs. Norris must've seen the reflection via the puddle! They've only seen the reflection of The Basilisk! It needs direct eye contact to kill someone!" You explained as you walked and talked.
They then went to a nearby stone goblet to re-read the passage.
"Spider flee before it... it all fits!" Harry said
"How's a basilisk been getting around? A dirty, great snake. Someone would've seen it!" Ron asked the million-dollar question.
"Hermione's answer that too." Harry said and let them see what Hermione wrote which is "Pipes"
"Pipes?! It's using the plumbing!?" He asked as you two looked up.
"Like Mario?" You joked
"Remember what Aragog said about that girl fifty years ago?"
"I was too busy looking at too many spiders." You said.
"She died in a bathroom? What if she never left?" He dropped hints.
"MOANING FREAKIN' MYRTLE!" You shouted as on time, Professor McGonagall announced that all students must enter their dormitories at once and all teachers to the second-floor corridor immediately.
You and the boys secretly hear the conversation amongst the teachers as Lockhart came by who must've blabbed about how he found the entrance to The Chamber of Secrets as he tries to back up his claim at once. The nurse asked who was the student that got taken... it was Ginny, Ron's sister, and the boys quietly gasped. Once the teachers leave, they finally saw the bloody writing on the wall.
"HER SKELETON WILL LIE IN THE CHAMBER FOREVER"
"Ginny." Ron said in a worried tone.
They quickly went to Lockhart's class and into his room to tell him and when they barged in... they saw him packing.
"YOU FUCKING PUSSY!" You screamed at him
"What? How dare you call me a-" You then reeled your right arm as he screamed like a little girl.
"Yup knew it. You're bailing out!" You shouted at him as he continues packing.
" I must say, when I took the job, there was nothing in the description above-"
"You're running away?!" Harry asked as the boys blocked Lockhart's way.
