As I make my way down rolling hills and fields, I thought about my future and inevitably lose track of time. Once I finally snap back into reality, I finally notice the setting sun over the horizon.

After a few more minutes of anxious walking, I begin to see homes with in the far distance. The glow from the windows and the smoke from the chimneys served as a saving grace. With the burst of good news, I skip the rest of the way down. By the time I reach the bridge, the sun had fallen, and it was too dark to make out the path.

Luckily I prepared for this! I set my bag on the side of the bridge, and unclip the lantern attached to the side of my bag. I take out a lighter from my bag and light the lantern. With the area brightened, I am ready to continue.

I keep walking through the town path, passing by dimly lit homes, little shrubs and other dark greenery which is illuminated by fireflies.

'Oh, they're so beautiful.'

Fireflies have always been special to me, I remember going to this vast flower field with my mother to view them. There were so many!
I knew getting homesick was bound to happen, but this soon? I feel my eyes dampen a little, but I shake it off and continue down the path.

I reach into my bag and retrieve a map. With my finger gliding along the page, I manage to orient myself within the valley.

'So if I go this way...'

In the corner of my eye, I see a figure with a lantern walking from the other side towards the path that I'm on. I steady myself, curious as to who is approaching.

"Oh!"
As the figure came closer, I could make out the outline and hair of that same man.

"Y/N?" The figure, who I am most certain is Snufkin called out.

"Yes, it's me! Snufkin, right?"
I say, pleasantly surprised.

"Yes it is."
He says with a smile on his face. Although I couldn't see him clearly, it was still easy to tell.

"I'm surprised to see you again. Are you headed this way?" I ask curiously.

"Oh... yes I am actually."

"Great! Well... um... we can walk together if you'd like?"

"I'd... like that." He replies with the same smile.

I feel my heart start to beat rapidly as he goes to stand beside me.
His face becomes illuminated by our dim candlelight, and I see his soft features in the glow. He looks at my (e/c) eyes intently, and I stare back at his.

I notice a dusty pink to his cheeks...

'Oh no.'

The butterflies in my stomach return as I maintain the eye contact with Snufkin.

Snufkin's POV

'I can't believe it's her again.'

I can't see too much because of the darkness, but I remember her voice and the outline of her dress and bag. I felt a heat in my face creep up as I agree to walk with her.
My heart begins to flutter, and I get a strange feeling in my stomach.
