A/N I made this for a short story project in school and kind of just plugged in the names and put it here. It was kinda meant to be misleading but obviously that doesn't work it I put gay in the tags. Anyways I'll probably do like a how they got together story or I might just stop entirely I'm very unpredictable and this is one of those moments. Also I'm Canadian so theres a u in colour.

I've been searching all month but I can't find a single guy who fits all of my standards, they're all either too short, bad dental hygiene, smoker, etc. It's just so hard to find a good guy these days. Maybe I should try some new cafes or a bar, wait definitely not a bar.

"Can you put your table tray up please?" The flight attendant asks. I'm currently going to a matchmaking sort of event to try and have some hope of finding somebody I like.

" Excuse me I think you might be in my seat." A handsome man asks. I looked down at my ticket and realized I was a seat over

"I'm so sorry" after I've moved over I try to start a friendly conversation.

" I was- I'm going sightseeing" the man blushed before he cut himself off.

" Yeah I'm doing the same." I lied too embarrassed to say the truth, "Have you ever been to Tokyo?"

"Once for work but I never got to see any of the attractions. My name's Kageyama by the way."

"Mine's Yachi I'm from just a little outside of Tokyo." the flight attendants voice rang threw the speakers

" Please remember no smoking or vaping on the plane, please do not walk around if the seatbelt light is on, when your seatbelt is on make sure it is safely fastened," I stopped paying attention and asked Trevor a question.

"Do you smoke?" Kageyama looked at me before processing the question

"No, I don't do anything like that. I wanna live a long time so I can eventually see great grandchildren. I also play a lot of volleyball and I need to be able to have a good lung capacity to play as much as I do." That's my exact reason, he's becoming exactly what I'm looking for the longer I talk to him. He has thick black hair and dark blue eyes, skin with the slightest rose colour to it. He's fairly tall, seems intelligent and a good conversationalist.

"What's your family like?" Kageyama asked, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Really good my grandmother just turned 90 a couple days ago and my sister's getting married in the fall. How about you?"

" My grandmother died in a car accident ten years ago, but my grandfather is still going strong!" The longer we bantered back and forth the more I felt his gaze analyzing me. The way my long ash blonde hair fits into a braid, or the freckles across my face. Every time our brown and blue eyes meet I can feel we were thinking the same thing.

"Have you ever had any health scares?" I asked with a half joking tone.

" No, I think the most serious thing medically that's ever happened to me was getting some stitches on my chin." He said almost embarrassed at how uneventful it sounded.

"How did that happen?" I asked genuinely curious

" Me and my cousin went to the beach and I was the first one to go down this big metal rusty slide and I was kinda freaked out. I was working up the nerve to go down when my cousin pushed me and I did a couple flips and cut open my chin of a sharp piece of metal." I started to laugh a little.

"How old were you?" I said still chuckling to myself

"Like six and the next day a tree fell on my house! One or the worst weeks of my life I think." The flight attendant comes to our row "Would you guys like anything to drink?"

"I'll have some milk please." Kageyama looked really excited.

"And I'll have some apple juice please." I watched as the lady got me a juice box and Kageyama some milk. The voice of a man started to ring threw the speakers

"Hello everyone, this is your captain speaking and I'm letting you know that we're 20 minutes away from landing in Tokyo." Oh no I haven't even asked him yet. How do I even know if he's okay with it, or if he's even interested? I start to panic a little and look over to Kageyama who keeps looking at his phone and looks almost as panicked as me. Kageyama picks up his milk and almost immediately drinks it all. He keeps looking over and opening his mouth as if to say something, but stops.

"You said you play volleyball. What team do you play for?" He looked a little relieved that I said something.

"Schwieden. I play with a lot of really skilled players."

"What position do you play? I never really played volleyball but I've always thought it'd be cool to be a libero."

"I'm a setter I'm trying to get on the national team right now and that's going pretty well." The closer it gets to our expected arrival time the more anxious I get. I really have to ask him soon otherwise I never know when another opportunity will come up or if I'll ever see him again. He's exactly what I'm looking for and I can't let it slip threw my fingers.

" Hello everyone, this is your Captain again. We're starting our descent so make sure you put your seatbelts on and raise you trey tables." I shakely do as he says.

"Hey Kageyama," he whips his head over and listens anxiously. "Do you- How are you with flying?" Seriously Yachi pull yourself together! Stop shaking so much!

"Fine I guess. I haven't done much of it so I'm not too familiar with it."

"Oh you just kinda looked nervous so I thought that might be why." I looked down feeling the pink rise to the freckles on my cheeks.

" Well I am nervous but not because of that. It's just kinda strange to ask somebody if you can have their child and this is definitely not the way to do it." What? Did I just hear that right?!?!? Kageyama looked like he was actually starting to panic "NO NO NO! NOT LIKE THAT! I meant as like a surrogate because I have a husband and obviously we can't conceive one so I was going to a thing to try and find someone but you were kind of exactly the kind of person I was looking for." I started to laugh hysterically and Kageyama looked growingly worried.

"I was going to ask you the same thing" I said between laughs.

After the plane landed we showed each other pictures of our spouses and talked about everything at a local cafe "Why couldn't Kiyoko come?"

"She had a really important meeting at work and trusted that I could find somebody good. How about Hinata?"

"His team got a new coach and he's making them do some brutal training because he figured they needed more. You gave me such a heart attack back there I thought I was going to pass out." I started laughing some more.

"So you live in the area, right?" I nodded in his direction as I took a sip of my coffee. "We should all meet up soon so we can make a plan and all.

"That sounds like a great idea!" I pulled out my calendar and looked threw for the open days me and Kiyoko had off. "Does Thursday work?" I looked up expectantly.

Kageyama thought for a second " Yeah that should work," he took out a piece of paper and wrote something on it "here's me and Hinata's phone numbers in case anything changes." I nodded. Kageyama finished his cup of coffee and said their goodbyes.
