TRIGGER WARNING: abuse
Mature language hehe

Sophie was upset, and Fitz was drunk. He was her drunk boyfriend (at least that is what she called him), and she feared for her life. Each day he came home, seemingly upset that Sophie was still living. So he decided to make her life living hell, at least until he was sober again—and he never was.
She had been sitting at home, talking to Edaline over the phone about her life living with Fitz, and Sophie used that moment to talk about fitz's drinking habits. Edaline was appalled (as was Grady) and told Sophie that he should get help. Sophie had already tried, but instead had gotten whacked in the head with h a glass bottle, which made for an interesting trip to the Healing Center.
Sophie continued listening to Edaline and her life without Sophie, which was quite boring, and didn't notice when Fitz walked in.
"Oh hello, Edaline," Fitz spoke over Sophie's shoulder (which made her jump very visibly), trying to hide the slur and make Sophie seem like a fake, "Sophie and I will be going to dinner so she has to go." He hit the end call button and grabbed Sophie by her neck, throwing her to the ground.
Fitz's eyes were filled with rage, "You worthless," he stumbled for the right word to call her, "fucking bitch.!You are just a child that runs to your mommy about everything. How pathetic."
The emotional blows were worse than the physical ones, but each hurt in their own way—all damaging the same. Sophie cowered as he continued to threaten her, then he slapped her across the face. Not just once. But three times, leaving a hand shaped red spot on her face.!
Sophie's eyes were spilling tears like a dam about to break, and that was when Fitz grabbed her again and threw her outside on the pavement. Fitz knew it would leave a mark, and that made him happy. He slammed the door in her face and laughed at her. "Pathetic bitch." He taunted (kind of a low blow though).
Sophie reached for her phone, which was now partially smashed, and called the one person who lived close enough and cared about her health enough to take care of her. "Elwin," she gasped out, "can you come get me from my house?"
Elwin, a well known doctor, knew well enough that this was urgent and rushed over to get Sophie. He took in her form lying on the pavement before scooping her up and running (or driving) her over to his own clinic.
He rushed Sophie in before laying her on a cot. Keefe was there, a doctor-in-training, waiting for Elwin. Keefe gave Sophie the pity eyes, before messing with his blonde hair.
Elwin began to try and fix up Sophie, which turned out to be more difficult than expected—she didn't want anyone to touch her.
"Sophie you have to let me help you, okay?"
Sophie only cowered in the corner, her arms wrapped around her in a hug. She shook her head, "I can't."
Keefe was kneeling on the ground at this point, trying to calm Sophie down enough for an examination to heal her. His arms reached out in front of him, his eyes surveying her like she was a wild animal. "Hey, hey. Sophie. It's okay. Let us help you," his ice blue eyes were pleading, "please."
She shook her head wildly before she tried to bolt out of the door to her left. She didn't even make it a step when Keefe grabbed her in his arms. She was startled and started crying while trying to wiggle out of his warm arms.
"Elwin, a little help please?" Keefe said loudly.
Elwin ran over and held Sophie to set her on the examination table. She realized there was no escape, so she sat still—almost deadly still.
Keefe and Elwin got to work stitching the back of her head, her elbows, and knees, and then rubbed a cream into the red marks on her face to soothe them. Keefe stood between her legs, pushing her hair aside and looked her in the eyes, "Was it Fitz again?"
"Again? Pshhhh no! I don't know what you're talking about. I um...fell outside trying to walk Iggy. Darn dog." She shrugged with fear still in her eyes, trying to play the role that Keefe and Elwin NEEDED to see.
Keefe nodded slowly in disbelief, "Do you want me to take you home?"
Sophie barely let him finish his sentence, "Um no. I uh can just walk home. Bye." She scrambled to get away from the Keefe, his questions, and reality. He grabbed her arm, causing her to wince in pain. She whipped her aching head around to face Keefe, "please. Let me go."
"No. I know it was Fitz. Please let me protect you."
Sophie got defensive. "Stay out of my life, okay?! Everything is under control. I don't need you to protect me from goddamn Fitz. He's my fucking boyfriend, I think I can handle him." She screamed, bracing herself for the backlash.
Elwin gasped in the background, while Keefe never let go of her arm. "You aren't fucking leaving."
"Yes, I am. Now let go of me." Sophie started out strong, then a sob slipped through. "Why doesn't he love me?"
Keefe wrapped her in a hug, "Sophie..." he sighed, unsure of how to finish his sentence..
"No it's okay Keefe. I won't go back to him," she lied straight to his face while scrubbing her eyes from tears, "I have to go home home."
Keefe tensed, he could feel her lie. "Sophie, do you actually think that I would believe that shit for a single second? I know you, you're loyal until you die—and I won't have you die by Fitz's drunk hands."
"He's not always drunk," Sophie muttered, trying to defend her abusive boyfriend.
        "It's A B U S E, Sophie. And it's —" Keefe spelled out for her before getting cut off.
"It's how he loves me, okay. It's the only way he shows me that he loves me."
"Sophie that's not love. Love isn't supposed to leave scars on her arms and legs or your head. I can help you. I want you to know what love feels like."
         Sophie stayed quiet.
"I can love you how you deserve, okay. I can fix what Fitz messed up because he is too fucked up to love anyone." He didn't dare try to kiss her, afraid she would get spooked again. Instead, he hugged her tight.
         Sophie hugged him back.

Well that's ✨fucking bullshit✨ writing but oh well. Hope it was decent
