A/N: Just a reminder I do not ship Sofitz. It is just for the storyline. So fellow Sokeefe shippers, know I am not turning. I never will.

Sophie knew it was a dream the moment she looked around the clearing. It was a tall cliff side hill, with creatures who went beyond her imagination, and a beautiful willow tree with blue, pink, and purple blossoms.

Nothing like that could be real, no matter how much she wanted it to be.

Then just like that everything erupted in flames. Sophie stumbled backwards, right into a thicket of sharp thorn bushes. She felt the cuts burn when ash fell into them. It felt real.

Even thought it wasn't...

Sophie opened her eyes, staring up at the ceiling of her bedroom. "It was just a dream" she said to herself as loudly as she dared.

Her parents and sister were likely already awake, and she didn't want to risk them knowing about the nightmares she'd been having.

Getting up and out of bed, Sophie changed into something to wear and grabbed her backpack before leaving the room and heading downstairs.

Just as expected, her mom was in the kitchen making breakfast. Her dad and sister sat at the dining table, sipping on orange juice and coffee.

"Morning soybean" her dad said.

"Dad, I'm fifteen. Stop calling me that." She complained.

"Don't be whiny soybean." Amy snickered, and Sophie just glared at her.

Her mom walked over and handed her a plate with some eggs and a piece of toast. "Eat up. The buss will be here in fifteen minutes."

Sophie reached up to tug out an eyelash, her usual annoying habit. "Actually, I promised to walk with Linh and Fitz today." She took the toast and put the eggs down on the counter.

"Sophie Foster sit down and eat-" her mom started, but Sophie was already out the front door.

Sophie walked all the way to the end of the street and knocked on one of her best friend, Linh's door.

Linh opened the door and smiled. "Good Morning Sophie!"

Someone in the house behind her snorted. "Good isn't the word I would use."

Linh scowled. "Go away Tam" Tam was Linh's twin brother with a massive case of Emo Boy and negativity.

"Whatever" he said and walked away.

Linh rolled her eyes. "He's so weird" Sophie had to agree.

Linh closed the door and they started their walk.

"You ready for exams on Friday?" Sophie asked her.
Linh laughed. "Maybe. I'm not too confident in Algebra two but that's about it."

"I'm pretty sure I'm going to fail chemistry. It's impossible"

"I told you I can tutor you."

Sophie shook her head. "I know I need the help but I can't. I don't know why, sorry."

Linh opened her mouth to argue, when Fitz walked out of his house to join them.

"Hey guys"

Sophie smiled. "Hey"

Linh waves slightly. "Hey." They walked in silence for a while, not sure why it felt so... uncomfortable.

Sophie was especially confused. Fitz was her boyfriend. She shouldn't feel so weird.

They made it all the way to the school before talking again. "I have a free period if you happen to have the time. You need to pass chemistry, so just know my offer still stands when you're ready." Said Linh.

"Alright" Sophie stopped under the shade of a tree at the entrance and turned to her friends. "I'll see you guys at Lunch. I'm supposed to help show this new kid around today so you won't see me in class" Linh nodded and walked away.

Fitz in the other hand didn't even bother to say goodbye before walking away to talk to a group of friends Sophie had never met.

Holding back her annoyance, Sophie walked inside the building trying to find
Principal Alina's office.

Eventually she found it and knocked. "Come in" came the principal's shrill voice.

Sophie opened the door and dropped her bag next to an empty chair before taking a seat. "Hey, you said I needed to show someone around"

Principal Alina smiled. "Yes. Sophie, this is our new student; Keefe Sencen."

Sophie froze. It couldn't be. No, there had to be a mistake. He couldn't be here. He shouldn't...

She straightened and turned to look at the chair beside her. Keefe didn't meet her eyes. He barely turned to look at her. "It's nice to meet you. Welcome to Foxfire High. I hope you fit right in here."

His shoulders sank in like a sigh without any sound. Then her looked over at her. "Yeah, fitting in. Sounds just great..."

Principal Alina smiled. "Perfect! Meet back here in an hour to finish up here before classes!"

Sophie stood up and grabbed her bag. She opened the door and waited for Keefe to leave.

"Thanks" he muttered
