E P I S O D E 17

Y/N POV

After a few hours of sitting, talking, and a bit of studying, the three of us finally stood to leave.

"We still have a few hours until we have to be at Johnny's," Jia reminded me.

"Ah, okay," I nodded. "Should we bring meat?" I asked.

She shook her head no.

"I texted him a little bit ago, and he said he already had plenty of meat and soju," she answered. "One of his friends is going to be bringing side dishes also, so they've already got everything covered."

I nodded in response to her statement.

"What's the address?" Akira asked.

"XXXX Rd," Jia answered.

Just as we were about to exit the cafe, the barista we'd seen earlier called out to us.

"Wait!" She shouted. "Excuse me, sir, do you think I could get your number?" She asked, smiling, as she held her phone out to Akira.

He looked at her expressionlessly, placing his hands in the pockets of his long coat before answering.

"No," he bluntly answered before turning to walk out the door.

I watched at the girl's smile once again turned to a frown as she watched him walk out the door. I heard Jia let out a small 'pfft' while she held back her laughter.

"Are you coming or not?" Akira asked from behind us. "My hands will freeze to death."

Jia and I turned around, and to our surprise, he was holding the door open for us. He's never done this before. Around the time the three of us had first met, he did it out of courtesy, but after we became friends, he thought it was slightly funny to see doors shut on our faces while we tried to rush through.

Jia quickly went through, giving him an odd look while my eyes locked on his for a split second. That second felt like an eternity as his eyes were focused on mine. The look deep within them wasn't that of a cold one, but that of a quite warm one. I walked through the door, thanking him for both holding it open, and my tea from earlier. He did nothing but nod as he returned his large hands to the warm comfort of his pockets.
