Him, Me, Midnight (some smut)

chapter 1

it was getting dark as a walked to my best friends house. I was starting to get uneasy. I never felt comfortable when I was alone. I started freaking out and walked faster and faster to my friends. I was still a while away.

"Y/n!" a yell broke me out of my thoughts, and I knew exactly who the voice belonged to. max. the guy who every single girl dreamed of being with. Every. Goddamn. Girl. I don't think ive ever met a girl who didn't. I promised myself years ago I wouldn't fall for him. Well. That didn't last long. Either way, he's still one of my best friends so I try to put it behind me.

I felt his arm slip round my shoulder and pull me tight. we aren't even dating and that still gave me butterflies. 

"hey, why didn't you wait for me? I was calling for ages" 

"sorry I was wrapped up in my thoughts. you going to jades house?"

"yep."

we carried on in silence, occasionally talking about random stuff that really doesn't matter, like how was your day, blah blah blah. gotta admit tho, I felt safer when he was there.

we reached jades house and she pulled us into a tight hug and grinned at the two of us. behind her I saw Sam (her boyfriend) laughing at some meme on his phone or some among us game which he is seriously obsessed with. 

Jade screeches excitedly, "I GOT THE KEYS TO MY BROS CAR! WANNA GO FOR A DRIVE?!!" I screamed "HELL YEAH!" max laughed "but don't you need a drivers licence for that?" 

About 20 mins later

"Sorry jade, but I don't trust you behind the wheel."

"Why tf not?"

"you don't have a license, you are stark crazy, and down right stupid when it comes to these things. it'd be like walking into a death trap."

"well, y/n and sam are coming, so if u want to be here alone then, you do you."

"ffs fine|"

"Yayyyy"

we got in the car, sam and jade in the front, me and max in the back. we started driving and sam and jade were flirting back and forth, as always, and then jade pulled over into a carpark in the middle of the woods. "wait. why have we stopped here?"

"you two are going to sit in here"jade said whilst getting out the car "until the two of you, idk, fall in love or some shit idk. sam and I will pick you up at midnight."

"midnight?! but its 9 right now-" I tried to open the car doors. "shit, really? child lock?" I mumbled under my breath.

I turned to max "were you in on this?!"

"no im as confused as you are." 

I almost wanted to tell him there and then my feelings, and see if he felt the same way, but something told me to wait. he turned to me. 

"hey y/n, um, this is probably really weird and um, I kinda like you." he turned a bright shade of beetroot as he said that. I laughed to help him relax, "chill out dude, I lowkey like you too." "wait for real?"boy could he be slow sometimes. I leaned forwards and kissed him. after a second he was kissing me back. I pulled away, surprised at my own boldness. 

he held my cheek and whispered in my ear, he was so close I could feel his breath on my neck.

"we still have another three hours y'know"
