Remembering The Past

There was a time when you were mine

The year after nineteen ninety nine

After all was done and said

A couple months later we wed

Our daughter was born in two thousand and one

I remember how she and I had so much fun

I would read her stories and tuck her into bed

Tell her I loved her and kiss her on the forehead

Kindergarten, first and second grade too

How those years just quickly flew

Third, and fourth and fifth grade now

I look back and just say “WOW”

As life goes by way too fast

Day by day keeping you in suspense

All the mistakes you made in the past

Use them as a learning experience
