I am sat on my own on the curb for no reason at all the world seems to be spinning around. With my luggage in my hand I head for the tube. I live in Australia and my 'mum' has just told me after 19 years that I am not her daughter. I am her friend Elizabeth's daughter I mean after 19 years she tell me. Did I forget to mention ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Today I finally turn 19 and I have always wanted to be of this age as I have now finished school and life is great. It is summer at the moment here is Australia and I really wanted to spend it with those friends I don't have. It's not that I'm mean to people I just put my education infront of parties and boys. I have always wanted a boyfriend but oh well.

My name is Lara but I want a new start so people are going to start calling me El, short for Lara. I have my money stuffed in my pocket and cards in my purse, in my handbag draped eligantly over my arm. I have loads of money on my bank account so I'm gonna go and find somewhere to live. I don't know where, where first??? England!!! Well who cares what 'mum' thinks I am going and right now . My essentials see on my gigantic suitcase and I will call my 'mum' soon to tell her to ship over my furniture still in the house.

"Woo hoo I'm going to England baby" I yell.

People all around my stare I give an apologetic smile and run to the airport which is surprisingly close to where I was sat on the curb. I run for a few minuets and reach the airport. Suddenly I am seeing everything in a whole new light. Everything seems so different as I notice every detail of my surrounding the way the child eating a burger sniffs as he stuffs his mouth with burger and the way the ticket suppliers roll the money between their finger tips. I walk over to the ticket suppliers desk.

"Please may I have one adult ticket to England, no return" I politely say.

The ticket lady smiles at me.

"Have you got ID sorry to ask I know it's a pain." the lady asks nicely.

I grab my handbag and show her my drivers licence. She gives me my flight ticket and tells me that the flight leaves in 10 minuets and I hurry to the air gate, she points me to. I see the security guards shutting the airgate doors and I run over and they let me through checking my bags and luggage. I climb aboard the plane and take to my seat.

This is is. I feel the plane starting up and lifting off the ground. My eyes start closing and I fall into a deep sleep.
