I watched as she tried to find a way to escape. My heart was pounding in my chest, and I hated the look of fear in her eyes. I didn't know why she was afraid of me, and I didn't know if I wanted to find out. "Please," I said, saying a word that was so foreign to me, but for her, I would use it over and over again. "I-I need to talk to you. Don't try to run away."

Georgie hesitated but took a step towards me. Her whole manner was submissive, and I couldn't help but let out a small growl in anger. She paused and looked at me with her eyes wide with fear.

I offered her a tight-lipped smile, not used to smiling at anyone but my family. "Come on," I said. "I am not going to bite... yet." I bit back a smirk when I saw my mate shiver at the promise.

Lust filled her eyes, but I could tell that it was the wolf giving her ideas, and she started to smell so sweet while she became aroused.

Georgie shook her head and scowled, her ears flattening to both sides of her head. She was unimpressed with whatever her wolf suggested, and I couldn't help but wonder what it was.

"You don't have to submit," I said, trying to keep the anger out of my voice. "You don't need to submit to anyone."

Doubt flickered through her eyes, but she didn't say a word. Gently, she took the clothes from me, watching my every movement. Her ears kept flickering back and forth, and I could tell that she was focusing on her surroundings as well as me.

Pride filled my body while I looked at her because I couldn't help but notice how strong she was. She was skinny, to be fair, but she didn't seem to let it bother her at all.

Georgie took the clothes from me and made a dash to the bushes. She took her sweet time getting ready, but she didn't leave like I thought she would. She walked out dressed in my clothes, tucking a strand of red hair behind her ear. "It's umm... too big," she said, clutching the jeans.

I took the belt that I was wearing for "fashion purposes" off and handed it to her. "Here," I said.

She hesitated to take it from me. She glanced down at my jeans before looking up at me, concern in her eyes. "Wil-"

"They won't," I said, forcing a smile on my face. "Jenny wanted me to wear them for "fashion" not for any other purpose."

She hesitated but nodded her head. "Thanks," she said, taking them from me. A small blush appeared on her face while she took the belt from me and placed it on. She didn't look at me when it reached the last hole, her face turning a brighter red.

Worry filled my body because I didn't know why she was so thin. I didn't know if she was anorexic, which I would help her with, or something else. I didn't dare ask, knowing that she looked really uncomfortable. "Here," I said, pulling a knife from my boot. I took hold of where the hole should be and cut one.

"You... didn't have to do that," she said, looking away from me. She stayed still, her whole body tense. "You just messed it up by doing that."

I shrugged my shoulder, acting indifferent. "It was to make you feel comfortable," I said, smiling at her. "Now you can hook it up, and the pants won't be able to fall off." I stepped away and placed the knife back in my boot. "Besides," I said, shrugging my shoulders, "you are my mate."

Georgie placed the belt on and looked down. "About that..." she said, fiddling with the sleeves of the hoodie. "I don't know if we should see each other... not yet at least."

Hurt. That was what I was feeling. Hurt and shocked. "Wh-?" I asked speechlessly.

She licked her lips and looked up at me. Determination filled her eyes, and I couldn't help but feel a bit proud of her, even though I was hurt. "I don't want to be in a relationship with you yet," she said, her voice firm. "I-I don't want to rush into things just yet. I-I am not sure if I am straight, bi, or a lesbian."

"Are you rejecting me?" I asked.

She shook her head, no, her eyes holding this haunted look in them. "I know what can happen if someone loses their mate," she said, her voice shaking a little. "I do not want to wish it on anyone."

"So, are you accepting me?" I asked.

"I want to wait," she replied. She looked down and kicked at the dirt in front of her bare feet. "I-I am not ready to be in a relationship, yet," she whispered, "even if it is with my mate."

My heart broke, but I nodded my head. I was surprised that she didn't bring up my past relationships with other females, but I guess she either didn't care or know. I prayed that she didn't care since it was in the past. "What about hanging out?" I asked, and she looked up at me. I tried to smile, but I couldn't when I saw her wide eyes. "As friends?"

Georgie shook her head, no. "Not yet," she said, and my heart broke even more. "I-I need to do some things first."

"Like..?" I raised an eyebrow, praying that she would answer me, and hoped that she would let me help with whatever she was going through.

"Turn eighteen," she replied, her voice so soft that I almost didn't hear it. She looked down again, a blush appearing on her face, and cleared her throat while she tucked a strand of red hair behind her ears. "I want to turn eighteen and leave my house before we do anything."

"So, what?" I asked impatiently. "What am I supposed to do? Wait?"

Georgie hesitated but nodded. "You could reject me," she replied, and I growled out in warning because I did not like that idea. She flinched away from me, and her whole body became tense, as if she thought I would strike her. Her heart started to pound faster, and I couldn't help but wonder what had happened to make her act like this.

"Why?" I asked, trying to keep my anger at bay. I had no idea as to what had happened to her, but I could tell that it was something bad. "Why would I reject you?" I asked.

Georgie looked up at me and smiled sadly. "You don't have to deal with something broken," she said. "You shouldn't have someone that was weak."
