'Harry. I'd like a word with you.' Darah says to Harry at the end of charms class.
'Oh. Ok.' Harry tells Ron and Hermione he'd meet them later. They leave and Harry looks at Darah.
'You're a parselmouth.'
Harry looks at her having remembered something. 'Oh yeah, I completely forgot to tell you. I was telling the snake to back off, not kill you.'
'What do you mean?'
Harry scratches his head. 'I only just found out about parseltongue. I didn't know. I thought you could all understand me.'
'You didn't know? You sounded all like sssss.' She waved her arms around imitating a snake.
Harry laughed. 'No, Ron only just told me. But I promise I'd never hurt you.'
'Oh.' Darah said simply, stuck for words.
'Yeah. Sorry I should've told you.'
'Yeah.' She paused. 'Well I guess that's it.'
'Ok.' Harry shrugged.
'Alright. See you later then.'
'Yeah. Erm, bye.' Harry hurried off to go find his friends.
Darah swore under her breath. She made her way to Snape's classroom and banged on the heavy door, not waiting for an approval to enter.
'Darah.' Snape said taken aback.
She strode over to his desk. 'Harry didn't try to kill me with the snake.'
Snape looked at her, confused.
'He told me that he was telling it to back off.'
'Why have you been taking to Potter?'
'Oh, shut up.' This is the first time Darah had ever spoken back to her father in this way but she couldn't control her words right now. She was angry, angry at everything Snape had put her through. She didn't know her own mother, she couldn't use magic until she started Hogwarts and then all of a sudden she was meant to be the perfect witch. She wasn't allowed to talk to Harry Potter, she could barely talk to Draco, she couldn't even acknowledge her own father or use her last name.
'Don't you ever speak to me like that-'
'I don't care, dad! My life is bad enough because of you! You are always telling me what to do, what's 'best' for me. I don't care anymore!'
Snape says nothing. Instead, he just stares at her, letting her spill her thoughts and feelings out.
'I want nothing to do with you anymore, Dad. I'm done.' And with that she left, slamming the door behind her.
Once again, Snape was left cold and lonely. He rubbed his eyes with a tissue, stuck in pure shock and still shook by sadness.
