Once again, Mingi was left by himself at Hell's Kitchen. Apparently, Hongjoong and Seonghwa needed to stay in for an "emergency". Only from what Mingi had heard over the phone, it seemed to be an emergency in their pants.
The day hadn't been very busy so Mingi didn't mind. There was an on and off string of customers to hold his attention during the day. However, there was one person in particular that was rather peculiar to him. Yunho, the man from the previous day, had come back asking the same question as before. Of course, neither of the owners were here, so he decided to wait.
The man spent the day sitting patiently in a booth towards the back of the café. He didn't order anything, he didn't preoccupy himself with something and hardly made a sound let alone speak to anyone. Mingi couldn't help but frown at the sight. Was he really willing to wait all day? Knowing Hongjoong and Seonghwa, that's exactly what he would end up doing. From what Mingi had noticed, they would have multiple "emergencies'' a day, almost back to back. They weren't bad owner's per say, they just acted like a newly-wed couple, never being able to keep their hands off each other for a second.
By now it was around 2pm. Yunho had been there since eight that morning. The cafe was empty other than the two of them and Mingi decided it would be a decent time to rest. Before that he decided to check on Yunho, seeing as there was no one else to take care of.
"Sir, I think you might be wasting your time." Yunho looked up at the barista standing over him. He looked as though he had snapped back to reality, his eye's brightening. "Can I get you anything while you wait?"
"You have asked me that a number of times," Yunho stated boredly and Mingi couldn't tell whether he was irritated or not. His tone just seemed bland. "Why do you care if I need anything?"
"It's...kind of my job?" Mingi replied awkwardly. "Well, if you don't need anything, do you mind keeping me company on my break?" Yunho didn't get a chance to respond before Mingi placed himself opposite of him. The man's expression twitched to a frown but Mingi hardly noticed.
"Oh right! I never gave you my name!"
"I don't care for it-"
"Song Mingi," the barista stuck out his hand, awaiting Yunho to shake it, but the man just stared at him blankly. Seems he didn't have very good people skills. He and Seonghwa would get along nicely. Mingi pulled his hand back with an awkward chuckle.
Realising this conversation wasn't going to get very far, Mingi eventually took out his phone. "Why don't I just call them? It'll be easier than waiting." That caught Yunho's attention. He gave Mingi a slow nod and watched as he dialed the number.
"H-Hello?" Seonghwa's raspy voice rang through the phone, followed by grunts and deep moans.
"Um...Hi Hyung, there's someone here to-"
"A-Ah! Hwa! Faster!" He heard Hongjoong moan from the other end.
Mingi cringed as the vulgarity of their words rang through the empty café. "R-Right well...um..." The poor man couldn't even get a word out, interrupted by a lewd sound every other second. So Mingi just hung up. He practically threw his phone on the table, then began to cover his face to hide the bright layer of blush on his cheeks. Why on Earth would he answer the phone in the middle of that!? "Are they coming?" Yunho questioned.
"Oh they're coming alright. Just not here..." Mingi shivered. Yunho was visibly puzzled by this. Not only by the situation, but by Mingi's expression as well. The man furrowed his brow then began to lightly tap the barista. "Mingi?" He tried, earning a groan followed by inaudible words of dismay from the brunette.
Yunho was unsure of what to do. He had never been in a situation like this and there was no one else around to the distraught barista.
Mingi jumped when he suddenly felt an arm wrap around his shoulder. "Shhh," Yunho whispered just as Mingi opened his mouth to speak. "You're in distress, please allow me to comfort you."
Despite the robotics of Yunho's tone, Mingi felt himself being drawn to it. It was more soothing than bland this time and he began to forget the phone call even happened, relaxing in Yunho's strong arms instead. Contrast to his cold tone, Yunho felt warm and inviting. His aura switched to one that Mingi was immediately taken by, nearly lulling him to sleep.
"Thank you," the barista said quietly. Yunho gave him a nod before slipping away from him. Mingi began to pout at the loss of contact, quickly trying to get it back. "Before you go," he called as he noticed Yunho begin to walk towards the door. "Would you like a tiramisu?"
Yunho's eyes brightened, quite literally, and he quickly sat himself back down at the booth. Despite his stoic expression, Mingi chuckled at his eagerness.
He came back from the kitchen a few moments later holding the tiramisu on a small plate. Yunho looked up at him excitedly, well, he just looked slightly less bored but Mingi would still take it.
Just before he handed him the plate, Mingi said "One condition - I'll give you this, if and only if, you let me cuddle with you." Yunho was almost surprised by how simple the proposition was but didn't turn it down. Mingi did a small fistpump, then handed off the dessert, quickly scrabbling next to the man.
Unlike last time, Yunho ate slowly. He made sure to taste every flavour the treat had to offer, whilst trying not to disturb the now dozing man leaning against him. Yunho sighed once he finished the tiramisu. He tried to move Mingi away, but the man only stirred, wrapping his arms tightly around Yunho's waist while he leaned against his shoulder.
Yunho wasn't sure why, but he felt an odd sensation in his chest, one he had never felt before. He tried to ignore his raging heartbeat by focussing on Mingi's face but that only made it worse.
The man sighed yet again. He looked down at Mingi once more, then at the empty plate in front of him. "Thank you, Mingi."
------------------------------
"Mingi! I swear I will bury you alive if you keep eating the damn tiramisu!" Mingi was suddenly startled awake by Seonghwa's shouting. His hyung storming past with a scowl.
"What do you mean? The man who ate it is right-" Yunho was nowhere to be seen. "Here..?" Mingi searched around with confusion, wondering where the man had gone off to. The barista held his head and sighed drearily. "Maybe I've just been up for too long."
Seonghwa sighed at him, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Take a break Mingi, you're probably just tired." He said with his expression softening.
"No I swear! He was right here!" Seonghwa narrowed his eyes. He seemed slightly suspicious of the now empty space next to Mingi, yet said nothing. He only shrugged it off and went behind the counter to make a cup of coffee.
"Where's Hongjoong hyung?"
The older smirked, leaning across the counter with a coy look on his face. "He won't be joining us for the rest of the day. He won't be able to walk for awhile either~" Mingi gagged and quickly blocked his ears as Seonghwa began to go into explicit detail about his day.
"Hyung!" Mingi whined, his face a flustered shade of red.
"Don't be like that. One day you'll find someone to wreck and you'll be bragging about it too." Seonghwa giggled, lightly licking his lips at the memory.
"Gross hyung," Mingi said with a groan. "Besides...I know what it's like. I've been in love once." He sighed. "But once was enough."
