“Daddy can you tell us the story of the forbidden love between lions and panther again?” asked a young leopard cub.
“Sure flower. Okay little ones listen up...
Along ago when men was just discovering the land, in the mitts of our African grassland lives two opposing kingdoms of cats: lions and panthers. Their rulers had personal reasons why they had become rivaling kingdoms, because of their disputes, lion armies and panther armies have fought fearlessly for a timeless battle of nothingness. Until one day when a prince lion and princess panther have gotten married and had two hybrid cats called leopards. This is their story.
In the mitts of a war; Prince Majāra of lions had snuck out of the great castle to go a walk behind the large stonewalls of kingdom of lions. When Prince Majāra was walking he wondered if he should go right into the neutral jungle of all animals or go back to the castle to get his scolding. Prince could not make up his mind only when the castle guards found him then he made his mind, he would go into the neutral jungle than getting scolded.
Into the jungle he ran, and did not dare to look back. He ran until he could not hear the guards anymore but he waited just in case some were still following. Nothing, he did not hear them. The prince continue walking into the jungle passed billions of flowers, he passed a yellowish hue bed of flowers he stopped to enjoy the scenery. Just as he stops someone asked “who are you?”
Majāra looked up to found himself in the presents of a female panther, he stands up. “I am Majāra and who might you be?” he bow takes her hand in his and kisses it.
“I am Jahoda, but my parents don’t like me to talking to lions.” She lets go.
“Well, I am sorry but you are talking to me right now.” He sighs. “There nothing I can do about that, I’m sorry.” He hang his head his majestic lion body.
Jahoda looked down; blushed knowing she should not, “I’m sorry.”
Majāra looked up and saw the same female panther looked blushed and looked like she was going to cry a river of tears. Majara walked over to Jahoda took her paw and said “I’ll stop saying sorry if you do?” he said in a questioning tone making Jahoda look up with a little smile on her face, Jahoda nodded.
“Follow me!” Jahoda grabbed Majāra following her deeper into the jungle. So deep you can’t even see the top of trees. The deeper they went the more they could hear rushing water on both sides. Tree leaves kept slapping Majāra in the face as they ran through the jungle. Where am I going? It’s hard to see through these thick leaves. Thought, Majāra almost stumbled over a tree root. I can’t keep up like this being dragged behind her. Majāra moved to Jahoda’s side.
Jahoda looked surprised when Majāra came up beside her because she was running fast; she was named the fastest runner for panthers 3 years running. Jahoda stopped causing Majāra to bump into her.
There they were at the edge of the center of the jungle, the air fresh as water, the sweet smells of flowers, and the waterfall splashing water everywhere over the grey rocks. In the center there was a teahouse with a circular table with a tea set and a vase of pale orange flowers. “What is this place,” Majāra asked while spinning around trying to catch every detail.
“UTOPIA!” answered Jahoda with a smile as big as the sky.
Jahoda walked over to the teahouse with the sunset’s glow on her face she looked as beautiful as a bed of flowers. The sunset! Majāra thought, I have to go. He did not wish to leave Jahoda, but he must of his father and mother would worry. Majara told Jahoda that he had to leave, but he will meet Jahoda at this teahouse every day.
From that day onward, they met, drank tea and talked ever day at the teahouse. The more they met, the more they fell in love, but they did not know the most important fact about each other.
One morning after it rained, Majāra was walking in the jungle and saw Jahoda writing their names in the mud. He saw Jahoda’s full name for the first time: Princess Jahoda Panther. “You’re a princess?” squeaked Majāra, surprising Jahoda.
She looked down, “Yes, I am a princess. I should have told you.” Tears formulated in her eyes.
“It’s alright, I am a prince.” Majāra grinned with his most marvellous smile. He bended down beside her and wrote his full name: Prince Majāra Lion. Jahoda was shocked, but she was blushing. Majāra turned to Jahoda and proposed asking her hand in marriage. Jahoda’s face turned from black to rosy black.
“AHHHHH, YES I will marry you Majāra!” She cried.
2 YEARS LATER. After Majāra and Jahoda’s weeding the lion and panther war finished, but both parties families were very surprised when they heard the news. They agreed to not fight for the safety of their future generations, but no one is really sure they would. Majāra and Jahoda had twin crossbreeds, known as leopards. Their first born, a girl, was named Kvetina and second born, a boy, named Jalas. Those two made Majāra and Jahoda’s lives happy and very bust as they always ran around. The End!”
"Thanks Daddy. Is that why my name is Kvetina, after the first leopard?” asked the little girl leopard cub.
“Yes Flower, our mother and I named you after her because she was beautiful just like you and you are my little flower.” The father responded. “Time to go to sleep, every one.”
All the leopard cuds returned to their homes and beds. Except Kvetina, “Daddy, can you tuck me in?”
“Sure, Flower.”
Father leopard tucked Kvetina into her bed, “let the flowers take you to dreamland. Good night Kvetina.” He softly kissed her head as she fell asleep. On a night like this with the stars way up in the sky. Oh Mother Nature, please protect my daughter. All was silent as everyone was asleep to dream the night away.
