Darius' POV - Chapter 5

" Well..." I turn and look outside, "We can start this plan in the morning, I think we should rest, I'll grab us some water bottles," I said.

They all nodded, and grabbed their blankets and pillows. I walked over to the food storage container, and grabbed 4 water bottles, coming back I tossed one to each of them, and kept one for me. I closed the storage container doors, leaving a bit of a crack open. Sipping some water, I layed down, and scrunched my legs up.

"Night, Night," Brooklyn said. We all replied with goodnight, and fell into a sleep.

I woke up, to Brooklyn staring at Yaz and Sammy, she looked towards me and smiled a little. I did the same and stared at my hands. I have to admit, she's pretty cute...but never mind that. She could never have a crush on me, to be honest when I first met her, she seemed like the girl to pick on me for liking dinosaurs. I obviously don't think that now but, we're too different. I shook my head to get those feelings out, we're abandoned on a crazy dinosaur island, I don't have time for crushes. Especially on a famous youtuber. As soon as I got my focus back, Yaz woke up.

"Okay, let's just get Sammy up and start thing," Brooklyn stated.

Yaz nodded, Brooklyn schooched over to Sammy, "Sammy," she whispered. Sammy didn't move.

''Ugh." she muttered.

Brooklyn was about to put her hands on Sammy, and she looked like she was going to yell.

"Hey, hey, chill I'll wake her up," Yaz interrupted. Brooklyn shrugged and backed away.

Yaz, put her hand on Sammys rough hair and smoothed it down.

"Sammy," she whispered.

She didn't budge. Yaz lightly pushed her, while saying her name. Sammy twitched a bit and woke up.

"Oh hey," she said in her peppy voice, while sitting up/

Yaz giggled, and then saw me and Brooklyn looking at her, and went back to her intimidating face.

''Anyways," Yaz said while clearing her voice, "We need to find our way back to that lab," she inquired.

"Yeah but, we don't have a map or anything, it could take a while to find," I replied.

"If I had my ph- , never mind," Brooklyn sighed.

Sammy looked to the side.

"Um..well...I'm sure there might be one of those map signs, we just need to walk a bit," I faltered.

"Okay, true let's just eat a quick snack so we aren't hungry," Brooklyn agreed.

We all nodded in agreement and stood up, and moved our blankets and pillows to the front of the storage container.

Yaz pushed open the storage doors, and since I was the last one out, I closed it and left a little crack open again.

We each grabbed a strawberry yogurt grain bar, and a juice box, apple to be exact. We quickly ate whale standing, and threw the wrappers and juice boxes in a box in the corner of the container. Before closing the door I grabbed waters for us again, since we forgot ours in the other container. They each grabbed one from me and we began walking.

"So, where should we go first," Sammy asked.

"Well, when we go to the right, it goes back into the forest, which is the closest to the cabins, I'm pretty sure," I clarified.

"Yeah ok," Yaz replied. We began walking in that direction.

Yaz and Sammy were in front, while Brooklyn and I were in the back.

We were kind've close to each other, but we didn't say a word. Although I could notice her looking at me every few minutes. I didn't say anything though, now wasn't the time.

After about 20 minutes of walking, I'm guessing by the way, we were deep into the forest, following a trail. Sammy and Yaz lightly spoke to each other, while Brooklyn and I were dead silent. 

"Well, what does you think of those two," she suddenly asked me while pointing her head towards Yaz and Sammy.

Confused, I asked, "What do you mean?"

Brooklyn laughed lightly.
"I mean, they totally maybe like each other, Yaz just doesn't want to admit it. I'm not sure why, I guess she's the type to not ever express feelings."

"Yeah, I can see that," I replied back to her.

She nodded, "Hey... Do you think that Ben is al-" her sentence was cut off by a loud roar.

We all looked at each other in fear, to the left of us was a dinosaur. Yaz motioned us to follow her slowly. A quick crunch of a stick came from below us, before we could realize who it was, we heard stomping and roars. Quickly we began running, I looked back once, and the dinosaur came into eye contact with me. Yaz and Sammy were ahead of us by a lot. I couldn't believe how Yaz could be running like this, suddenly a tree fell right in front of Broolyn and I while Sammy and Yaz looked back terrified. Brooklyn turned and let out a shattering screamed and grabbed my hand tightly. We both ran to the right through trees, and we separated from Yaz and Sammy. We ran and ran, until we couldn't hear stomping. She collapsed by a big tree surrounded by rocks and I quickly went down with her. She sat up, and stared at me, I could see tears forming. Quickly I hugged her.

"It'll be okay," I said with a shaky breath.

Again, I heard leaves rustle, both of us scared to death turned back.

"Brooklyn...Darius," we heard a high voice say.

He then came out from behind a tree, "Ben..." we both said, while staring at him.
