"Listen, yeah.. but.. Yeah, wait.. No. Stop, listen to me for just a second. Okay? Please," I heard from the room beside me.
Curious about what it was, I took off my head set to listen clearer. I was listening to my favorite band—kind off— well, it's my "friend's " favorite.
I realized whose voice it was,and I cringed at its prim and proper tone.
The voice was coming from the other room, and I mean who else could be in the room beside me besides my sister?
Well, What's her problem now? Did she accidentally miss cheer practice by going to the mall?
Actually, why should i even bother? It's her life, her perfect life with her perfect friends, grades, and basically perfect everything.
But whatever she was doing, I was still a trifle curious.
I sat up on my bed and leaned in closer towards the wall.
"Don't think we should see each other anymore... No, you didn't-- I told you it wasn't.."my sister said in broken up sentences.
I started to contemplate if that was really her.I've never heard her like that.
A tinge of worry bubbled up inside me. Without knowing it, I swiftly punched it down. I shouldn't waste my emotions on her when she didn't even need me to.
I unconsciously leaned in closer. My Twenty One Pilot poster and I were basically having a staring contest while I concentrated hard to listen.
I glanced over my (At this point)headset and my pillows lying haphazardly on my blue bed. A thought passed through my head: I should really start fixing my stuff.
Waiting for her next reply, I sat up straight from my hunched posture and ruffled my purple hoodie to glaze comfortably on me.
The air was getting colder. Autumn's last goodbyes were starting to hit, and winter was inevitably coming by.
"It's just... complicated, okay? Pat? I am so sorry.. I.. It's — No, it's not you. I just...can't anymore," she muttered in between sighs.
I heard a beep followed by a heavy silence.
My eyes were wide in disbelief. Gripping my jacket, I clenched my jaw.
If I heard correctly, she just broke up with her boyfriend, her boyfriend of 4 years.
Everyone thought they would end up together, marry each other, and possibly die together. They were that fit for each other.
I've only seen him twice myself. He was the perfect package, handsome and rich.
Of course, you would not expect less from my sister, but they were broken up now.
Judging by what little was said, I could tell Cherrilyn ended it.
I rolled my eyes at the thought of her not wanting to be the one dumped.
However, she actually sounded sorry and sincere.
I loosened my hard grip on my sleeves.
What happened?
At the two occurrences that I had met Pat, he greeted me pleasantly.
He really seemed like a nice guy,and in addition, he was the captain of the basketball team.
My sister was practically the star of a Hollywood movie.
The heavy silence was now followed by delicate footsteps.
I held back my breath as the footsteps ebbed away; they were going farther and farther.
