One month later....

David decided this year to start taking Spanish. Our school also offers French and German, but only up to 3 years of the course, so he decided to become bilingual. (Which won't happen from one year of Spanish class btw.) Anyway, that's how we ended up in the same Spanish class. "So that brings me to the next subject to matter. In April 2016, we will be taking a trip to Peru. A limit of 12 kids can sign up, so think fast. It costs around $4,000," my Spanish teacher announced. "You want to go our first vacation together?" I asked him. "In case, you didn't hear, it cost 4 grand, my family cannot afford that," he said despairingly. I didn't think about that. My family could easily pay for that. "I could help with it," I offered. "I couldn't ask your family to do that for me." "I think you could, you saved my life twice," I countered. "I hurt you the first time, I had no choice but to help you, I'm not the saint you make me out to be," he said angrily. "Hey is everything alright?" I asked softly. "Yeah, everything's fine, it's just you think I'm so perfect, my lifes perfect when I'm really broken inside." I pulled him into an embrace, "I really am sorry about your mom. I really am. I think you should go visit her," I suggested. "Also, you should just sign up for the trip, see what you can do." I finished with a smile.

It was lunchtime. I wanted food. My god I wanted food. I feel like I've never been this hungry before. Seniors and juniors were allowed to leave campus for lunch. David snuck me out and we ate in his truck. Usually we made out, but today I was eating. "Wow, hungry today? Hey can I have some of tho-" I batted his hand away from my Sunchips. "Don't touch my fucking food," I threatened. "Oh shit, alright then," he backed off.

After school, I was dropped off at my beautiful apartment by David. "Sorry you can't come in today, I'm busy," I told him. I waved him off. I walked inside our newly rebuilt duplex. I didn't kick off my shoes and I waited until David was out of sight. I walked back outside and walked to the nearest shops and buisness's and applied for a job at every single one.

A week later, I was working at Powell's Books. It's the most kick ass book store I've ever been in. Authors come in almost every day and do readings, I talk to them about writing and publishing. I couldn't have asked for a better job. This salary was on top of what I earned from my publisher. I would be able to help pay for David's trip in no time. I hadn't talked to him that much for the last week. I felt distant somehow. I don't know, probably just a phase.
