(an- hi! another fic that i'm probably gonna lose the feel for and disappoint whoever likes this. but i love the idea of card sharks and casinos. so please enjoy this and spare me for my lack of updating my other fics.)

"Hit me. Feeling good." Oikawa chuckled, his lips meeting the rim of the glass. The amount of chips he had for his bet on the table would be concerning for everyone who wasn't him, Kenma, or Akaashi. A cigarette hung loosely between the brunet's long fingers. He lazily tapped the ash off into the tray below it.

"Stand." he adjusted his glasses as the dealer revealed his own cards. Oikawa smirked as he did the same and won with a perfect 21. With enough "money" in his pocket, he was satisfied to go home. Kenma was ready to leave hours ago and Akaashi had his fill playing poker earlier in the night. Oikawa pocketed all his earned chips and got to his feet, shaking the dealers hand. Akaashi and Kenma followed suit to go cash out their chips.

Oikawa made out with $7,000 for the night. He doubled from what he made last night. Kenma was a silent player. No smack talk, no eye contact, just silence. He made nearly ten grand and Akaashi made around five. It was more than enough for the week, enough for the month even.

But they were Card Sharks. They were pro-cheaters and knew exactly how to win any game without a single suspicion. They were good at what they do.

Kuroo watched from above, elbows resting on the railing. His eyes narrowed as the three exited the building. He sighed and scratched the back of his head. His tongue swiped across his bottom lip as he straightened out. The sound of a throat being cleared made him turn around to he source.

"What is different about those three?" emerald eyes met sly gold ones. Iwaizumi Hajime. Kuroo chuckled and shook his head, glancing to the side were the three sharks originally were. Their presence a mere ghost now.

"You noticed too, hmm? The brunet one loves to chat with other guests. We've spoken a few times, he's funny and charming. Oikawa Torū."Kuroo shifted away from his spot and started to walk around, Iwaizumi on his flank.

"Oikawa Torū, huh? I'm sure we could get Tsukishima to do some background check on him. Those other two should pop up too." Kuroo contemplated that idea, tossing it around in his head. It was a good suggestion but talking to Tsukishima was a scary thought.

They weren't exactly a thing but they weren't exactly not a thing either.

"Maybe. I just want to make sure they're not stealing from us." Kuroo glanced at his watch and sighed. He was exhausted but the night was when his casino woke up. "They come early and just as things pick up. It's just weird." he shook his blazer jacket sleeve so it covered his watch again. He glanced back at Iwaizumi and threw him a lopsided smirk. "Tell Tsukki to look into Oikawa Torū." Iwaizumi nodded and left towards the backroom where he could make his phone call.

Iwaizumi wouldn't admit it to anyone, barely himself, but that long-legged, obnoxious, beautiful brunet made his head skin and his heart pick up just a little faster.
