Dreams are unpredictable.
They're vast oceans that control your mind while you sleep.
But not even oceans can be controlled;
They'll make you toss and turn
In a storm of your own.
For the water reflects your mind;
And what's inside it:
Your fears and wishes;
Maybe even your inner demons.
Emotions caress the waves,
Guiding and blowing them in different directions.
The water reflects good and bad;
Transforming it into either:
A violent raging storm
That releases your deepest fears
Into the dark depths of an ocean of chaos,
Or a beautiful paradise
With a clear sky and calm water
Too perfect to be true
Yet you still allow yourself to be dragged in,
Allowing your hidden desires to become reality,
Even if for a sliver of a second.
Dreams reflect the inner turmoil of your mind,
With your wild thoughts
Crashing on the shores of your brain,
Confusing your heart.
Forcing you to choose.
Escaping reality through dreams can be:
Dangerous.
Uncontrollable.
Unpredictable.
You can't tell the difference
Between dreams or reality,
Friend or foe,
Awake or asleep,
Good or bad.
The waves will drag you in.
Keeping you a prisoner in its depths.
And you sink,
Sinking,
Sinking,
Sinking.
And at its climax,
You hit an island.
And wake up.
