take good care of her

Iwaizumi's hand trembled as he sent his text message to Oikawa. He slid his phone in his back pocket and organized all the items he brought under the sheets of the hospital bed in (Y/N)'s room.

One final look around the room and he was out of there.

"Are you sure you're ready?" Dr Akahiro asked the spiky brunette as he was staring down at (Y/N)'s unconscious body and brushing her hand with his thumb. He nodded with confidence and stiffly replied.

"I'm ready."

Oikawa's POV (7:20 a.m.)

I groaned as I woke up from my beauty sleep. I sat up and stretched a little before starting my day.

I reached over for my phone, still half asleep. My eyes haven't adjusted yet and so my eyesight was still blurry. I was able to detect a notification box. I let my eyes settle and focused them onto the notification. It was from Hajime.

wut ( ͠° ͟ʖ ͡°)

And then it clicked.

My heart dropped down the floor as a realized what Hajime meant. It felt like I couldn't breathe.

I jolted up from my bed and ran down the stairs. Just like that, I was outside running through the streets. Cold, barefoot, and still in my pajamas.

It always rains in the Springtime. My feet were freezing due to the morning mist. But I didn't notice. My main focus was getting to the hospital, hoping I made it in time.

The hospital was quite far from my house, maybe about six or seven miles. My legs were moving faster than ever.It felt as if there was nothing else in this world; just me.

My heart beat faster with every turn I made, getting closer and closer to the hospital. The morning air made it very difficult to breathe properly. It was inconsistent which made me dizzy, and caused me to stumble a little bit. I kept going. No matter what.

It was scary thinking about it. The moment I would arrive at the hospital, there's not a one hundred percent chance that either Hajime or (Y/N)-chan would be alive. It pains me thinking about it.

Throughout the past year, I had the opportunity to meet this amazing girl. It's as if she lifted weight off my shoulders. She made me feel free. The second Hajime brought her into the gym, I knew what was yet to come. People might say she looked like every other girl, but no. She had beautiful hair. Gorgeous eyes. An amazing sense of humor. A kind heart.  She was the first person in my life who I've fallen for for their personality. Sure, some girls are pretty on the outside, but it was different for (Y/N)-chan. Her exterior and interior were both perfect. My smile was different with her compared to my fangirls; it wasn't forced. Even if we've only spent one year together, it was one of the best times of my life.

As for Hajime, we've been bestfriends for as long as I could remember. Our mom's were friends in highschool, so it was natural for their children to be friends. I grew up with Hajime. When we were little, he would search for bugs in the park while I practiced volleyball. He would climb trees and fall of, getting cuts and scrapes along the way. I always told him to stop doing that, but he would stand back up and shake it off like the tough man he is. As we grew up, we always had each other. He was always by my side, and I was always by his. Our personalities were complete opposites, but I think that's what brought us together. We needed each other to get stronger. He was the man, I was the boy. Seeing his soft spot for (Y/N)-chan really surprised me. I've never seen that side of Hajime over the many, many years I've known him. I knew instantly, that he took a liking to her. Yes, I loved her. But seeing Hajime smiling with her like that warmed my heart. I feel like he was able to show his locked personality with her. No matter who (Y/N)-chan would end up with in the end, I would be happy.

I saw the hospital builing just a few yards away. My toes were practically falling off at this point, and my lungs were ice frozen. I was able to keep going by pure fuel.

I finally ran past the enterance and to the receptionist. "H-Hell...Hello. Ha-Haj-Hajim...e...." I was so out of breath, I couldn't talk properly. "Hajim-Hajime...where i-is... he." The receptionist looked at me with confusion written on her face. "Haji..me! Ha.. Hajime... Iwa-Iwaiz-Iwaizum...i.... Is he here?"

She shook her head, "Ah, Iwaizumi. He's... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry."
