{Hey! Quick note before we start: this is my first time writing fan fiction, and a crossover smutty one at that lol. Point is, I'm a total amateur, so this definitely won't be extremely historically accurate or stick to the character's exact personalities depicted in their individual movies. The plan is for this to turn into mostly porn, I just wanted a good base with a bit of a slow burn before we get to that haha. I'll keep writing these notes before the beginning of each chapter to explain what the content of the chapter will be (ie. first kiss, first time, threesome, etc.) In this chapter, our main characters Moana and Merida meet. Enjoy!}

Moana shivered as her eyes flicked open. Her eyes darted around, confused as to why she was waking up on wet wood and why her head hurt so badly. When she realized she was in an unfamiliar setting, she bolted up as the panic started to settle in. The events of the night prior came flooding back into her memory all at once.

The unexpected storm. The massive boulder that hit their ship, causing a leak. Her first and second mates rushing her into a dinghy as the rest of her crew scrambled to find more.

Sore and worried, she crawled out of the small boat and started to search for anyone, any other signs of life besides herself.

Moana quickly realized she was very much alone on this expansive snowy beach, and that there would be no one for miles.

Still unaware of where she was, she began walking along the frozen shoreline, following the sun.

After an hour of walking, what she thought was a thicket of trees on her side turned into an expansive forest, and soon she was walking between the water's edge and the oaks.

Another hour passed and she heard something in the distance. A rhythmic pounding, that seemed to be getting closer. She stopped in her tracks and hid behind the nearest tree. The rhythm turned into the clacking of horse hooves, and she excitedly turned a corner, hoping to see another person but instead was met with an arrow whizzing straight for her!

Moana squeezed her eyes shut in shock and waited for impact... but it never came. She tentatively opened her eyes to see a gorgeous young woman her age with flaming red curls, straddling a black stallion.

     "Shite! Yeh came outta nowhere!"

Moana looked above her to see a hand painted target on the tree she stood in front of, the head of the arrow lodged deeply into the bullseye.

The girl leaped off of her horse and rushed in the direction of Moana.

"Aye, are yeh alright, lass? Yeh look scared half to death!"

As her breathing steadied, the red haired girl's words started to register in her mind. Was that a Scottish accent?

"Are we in Scotland?" Moana asked suddenly.

"Feck, I'm an arse. Sorry for eh, almost shooting yeh. Erm, ma names' Merida, glad to meet yeh I suppose." Merida held back a chuckle as she extended her hand towards the other girl.

"Moana," she responded, while accepting the handshake. She smiled a little, surprised by Merida's casual nature and her liberal use of profanity. She was also surprised at how Merida only got more beautiful up close.

"Nice aim." Moana remarked, pointing to the bullseye. Merida laughed, relieved the other girl had a sense of humor.

"Thanks!" Merida answered, grabbing her arrow as she did so. "Ay, we're in Scotland, like yeh said. Within the castle borders actually."

Moana let out a sigh of relief she wasn't aware she had been holding.

"That's great news. I'm the Chief of the island Motunui and I'm supposed to be on a course to Norway, but our ship was caught in a storm and I got separated from my crew mates. Could you bring me to the castle? I need to speak with the Queen."

Merida smiled. "Yer lookin' at her."

     Moana's stomach dropped.

"Don't look so surprised, lass." Merida smirked confidently.

Why did that make Moana's stomach flip a second time?

"Sorry I just didn't think the Queen would be so-"

     "Young?"

Well, actually the word Moana was thinking of was attractive.

"I could say the same for yeh, Chief."

Composing herself, Moana responded, "I guess you could." She couldn't stop the corners of her mouth from turning upwards.

Merida looked at her up and down before hopping back on her steed.

"Here, let me help you up." She grabbed Moana's hand and helped her mount the horse. Soon after, they were off, galloping in the direction of the castle in the distance.
