Being with the stars isn't as great as you'd think. When people think about their death, they say 'they want to be with the stars', or even that they want to be one.
However, the truth is:
Space is really fucking boring after a while.
When you've lived there your entire life, the lack of, well... everything, gets repetitive and irritating.
Especially when you live on the moon.
All you do, all day, everyday is float around on a massive space rock, orbiting a planet that has so much life. So many memories to be made. So many people.
The moon was just a rock.
Nobody else ever there, only the boy who lived there.
Laon is a boy. A boy who lives on the moon. Our moon, to be exact.
At first glance, you'd think he's like any boy from earth, despite the fact that he has glowing stars scattering his cheeks like freckles.
He's lonely. That is to be expected after living on the moon in isolation for his 25 years of life, but he was really lonely.
He knows what it's like on earth. This makes the loneliness so much worse. He has to monitor the tides, controlling them. He can see images of beaches, people having fun and laughing.
So many people. A diverse range of stories and faces. People laughing and smiling, enjoying their lives. He even saw two people smushing their faces together at one point. He thought it was odd, but wonderful nonetheless.
Oh how Laon desired to be on that planet. Oh how he wanted to be human.
Maybe one day.
