(A/N: Hello again everyone! Hope you're all doing well and had a good week! Who is ready for this next chapter? You may need some tissues, it could be an emotional one! I've just realised that in a couple of days (1st December) it'll mark one year since I started posting this story, one chapter at a time, that's crazy how quick it's gone.. and in just over a months time, 2020 will be behind us (yay) although this pandemic will still be here (sadly).. anyway, let me know what you think of this chapter, I'm really surprised that I got it done in time, I've literally just finished it and posting it straight away, so apologies in advance if there are any mistakes! Also, I am in love with the song that I've included in this chapter! There's some things coming up in the next few chapters, some big things, and we will start coming to the end of the story, I'm not sure how many more chapters, but I know that the end is starting to approach *cries*.. anyway, enjoy this chapter! Stay happy, safe, hope you all have a good week! Laters :P)

I look over at Addison, as she lays in this comatose state. I feel helpless, there's nothing I can do to help her get better and wake up. I look over at my Mum as she paces the room while holding my newborn girl in her arms. I look at the doctors as they wonder what they can do to help us, or rather, Addison. Lastly, I look at Jamie, and he looks back at me.

"She doesn't want to wake up yet?" I question.

"Doctor Melendez, can one of you see if there's any brain activity?" Jamie asks them as he wonders. Doctor Melendez goes over to Addi's side and opens her eyes, I guess to check if there is brain activity. He shines the light of his torch into her eyes and even I can clearly see her eyes are twitching as if she's looking around.

"I can confirm that there is brain activity, but that doesn't mean she'll pull through, she isn't breathing on her own, if the ventilator is switched off, she'll only have minutes until her heart stops beating" He explains.

"Dear girl, this little girl needs her Mother, we can't give up on her yet" Mum says. I hold my hands up to stop everyone talking for a moment.

"Hold on, firstly, nobody, and I mean nobody is giving up on Addison" I say, looking at Mum as I say it. "Now, Jamie, I think I'm beginning to understand what you're trying to say, but can you explain anyway?" I request as I glance down at my wife.

"Ok, so, you remember how when you were shot, you were in a coma after surgery for about 3 days, you woke up and you told us you had seen and spoken to people, such as your Grandparents, and Addison's Mother, you weren't dead, but you were still in some sort of afterlife considering you were able to see them" He explains. I recall that time, not believing that it was real, I mean, it wasn't, but at the same time, it was, it wasn't a dream, even though it sort of was.

"I remember that" I nod as I follow his explanation.

"What if, Addison is experiencing the same thing you did, what if she's in that place?" Jamie questions.

"I guess if it was possible for me, it can be possible for her" I nod in understanding.

"Stefan, you know what this means, if this theory is right?" He questions.

"Sorry, but it doesn't mean anything, what if you are way off the mark here?" Doctor Melendez interrupts.

"Well, you guys have said it yourselves, any test that you do to try and figure out what is going on with my daughter, has come back normal, you're running out of ideas, this theory is one that wouldn't be confirmed with a test, a scan of the brain will only confirm that this is brain activity, which we already know that there is, this seems to me now, the only explanation" Jamie tells him.

"Yes, but as I've said before, she isn't breathing on her own, and patients have been known to not wake up from surgery, they've been healthy and there's been no reason for them to not wake up, but it does happen, what if Addison is one of those patients?" Doctor Melendez asks.
