Akaya’s POV:
This is real crazy.
In front of my very own eyes, I witnessed the cocky obnoxious girl got really psychotic in a whole new level.
And what’s crazy was that I like it.
Instead of feeling disgusted, petrified or even sympathy, I felt really glad. At this moment, I was kind of relieved the fact that I dozed off this morning and had to get down the Seigaku area. I was thankful that I decided to slip into Seigaku and make a ruckus in the tennis courts. But most of all, despite how immoral it is, I was a bit thrilled to know that…
…there was another individual like me.
Her face was enraged when she knew that she was pushed to the edge. Her eyes grew cold when her opponent threw insults at her. Her blood was visibly boiling that her skin illustrating a sheer crimson colour. Her voice came out bitterly fierce (honestly, it somehow reminded me of the Darth Vader). Her hair felt like it was going paler and paler as seconds passes.
Just like my Devil Mode.
The only difference was that, there was a bit of mystifying struggle within the girl herself. It seems like she is trying to get control over her body but fall short miserably. It’s like there are two people inside one body. Maybe one side is some psycho crazy bitch and the other side of hers is an ignorant swaggering brat. It didn’t look like her alternate personality came out at her will.
I can control mine. Kind of.
I tear off my eyes that were focusing on her and moved on to her opponent. He was so badly injured. Blood came gushing out of his nose and his mouth.
What surprised me was that she didn’t really hit it off randomly. It’s almost like she was doing some kind of kungfu…with a ball and a tennis racquet.
Her grip on her racquet was also strange, like she was posing off a gun. Her fingers grips onto the racquet with just the two of them, the one next to the thumb and the middle one.
As soon as the medical team along with a bunch of seniors carrying the bandanna guy came when the game apparently came to an end, she suddenly dropped her racquet and jerked back a little.
First, she squared her shoulders stiff, and then she relaxed a little while closing her eyes. Then, again she burst them open while she intensely gazed around her surroundings as if she is trying to drink it all in.
I would have missed it if I blinked but I noticed a sudden flash of horror and regret before she scooted away walking casually out of the court. I don’t know what came over me but I decided to follow her.
She went out of the school compounds and walked in a beat towards the park we first met. At the same almost inconspicuous tennis court, she wandered about. She rested her head onto the wall, stroking it as if it was some kind of cat while sighing deeply.
“Why...”
My ears perked at this and tried to hear what she was saying as clearly as possible. If this was a manga, this kind of moment is where the protagonist pours out all the feeling, right? I closed my eyes to hear whatever she was going to say more evidently.
“Why the hell are you following me?”
My eyes opened, thinking that she found out I was stalking her. Then, I noticed she was still talking to…the wall. I let out a silent sigh of relief as I continued crouching near the bushes. My eyes closed again, to continue listening blatantly to her speech, or whatever she was going to say.
