Clementine opened her eyes when she felt the rays of the sun upon her, she was so wide awake and well rested for the first time in so long and that was because she was in Violet's bed with Violet herself in that same bed.
She couldn't explain how safe this made her feel and how relieved she was that she finally had hope of things getting better with Violet, she remembered their talk last night and while it was somehow a good revealing talk, it also made Clementine's heart ache for Violet.
She lay on her side and took in Violet's state, she seemed to be in a deep sleep, so relaxed and unbothered. She was beautiful and peaceful and Clementine couldn't help herself, she gently placed her hand on Violet's cheek and stroked.
Her heart was aching because she felt the pain Violet has been holding inside her for months now, she blamed herself for things that weren't her fault, she pushed everyone away and felt all this guilt and ran away to be alone and keep everyone at a distance, she was all alone out there in that shack. With her thoughts and her guilt and self destructive feelings, Clementine felt bad for being upset at Violet and for thinking about herself more. She thought for a moment if she hadn't talked with Violet and if whoever killed James got to her first she would be gone forever bearing this unjustified guilt and all alone. A tear rolled down Clementine's cheek.
She moved closer to Violet and gently took her in her arms, she placed her head on her and wrapped her arms around her and breathed her in. Clementine sighed and tried to stop crying so she wouldn't wake Violet up. Instead, she just held her in her arms, breathing her scent and occasionally looking at her beautiful face.
She couldn't help herself, yes she decided to be a friend for Violet until she was healed and then take things further, because let's face it they were more than friends but it was gonna be a toxic relationship if they didn't fix all these misunderstandings first. They both knew that. Clementine looked at Violet and slowly leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on her lips.
She didn't want to feel like she was taking advantage of her. She kissed her because her heart ached for her. This was all new to Clementine, feeling like this about someone. She had never experienced this and she was gonna do everything she can to keep Violet safe and sound.
She promised herself she'll take care of her and be there for her, never leave her again even if she chose to walk away, at least with a good enough reason.

Clementine knew Ruby was looking for her, it was time to change her bandages and check on her leg, her leg healed and she started to get her strength back, but Ruby always checked and changed the bandages just in case.
She didn't want to wake Violet so she decided to keep holding her until she woke up on her own, but that peaceful embrace had to be cut short because there was a knock at the door.
There was another knock on the door and that made Violet wake up, she slowly came back to her senses and found herself wrapped up in Clementine's arms, waking up like this was nice, she was so lost in looking at Clementine and taking in this beautiful morning, but the third knock woke her up from her daze and she said "come on in!"
Clementine was taken aback by how beautiful and even more raspy Violet's morning voice had been, she had a thing for Violet's voice but she never knew it could be even more amazing and do these things to her.
The door opened and AJ walked in.
"Clem!" He said cheerfully. "I knew I'd find you here."
Clementine smiled and said "hey there AJ."
AJ looked at Violet and his smile slowly dropped and he hesitantly said "hi Violet."
Violet looked at Clementine and then back at him and said quietly "hey AJ."
