Chapter 1: The Wedding
She couldn't believe how happy she was. She was about to become Mrs. Patrick Jane. They had finally done it, so many obstacles had gotten in there way but now here they were about to start a new adventure together. A great adventure. She couldn't stop the smile from forming on her face, and for once she didn't want too.
She looked at herself in the mirror and for once she liked what she saw. She never thought of herself as "beautiful". Sure she had been told that she was attractive by her boyfriends and her mother use to always call her beautiful, but she never believed it. That was until Jane told her. Just something about the way his mouth made a z sound whenever he said her name, that made her believe anything he said. So when he told her that she was beautiful and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. She believed him. She gave away the life that she could have with Pike and decided to trust the man being led away but airplane security. She was getting married today.
She smiled once more as she looked at the lovely bouquet of red roses that he had sent up to her. They were beautiful. It was killing her not being able to see him. She had some big news of her own. She coudln't wait to tell him. She looked down at her belly, and she coudln't believe that there was a little someone growing inside of there. She thought that she had pretty much waited to long and that wasn't in the cards any longer. Just another little piece of heaven she got once she gave her heart to Jane. She couldn't wait to see his face when she told him he would be a daddy again.
Van Pelt was stunned. No she was beyond stunned, this just didn't make any sense. She had seen Jane just last night, and he was happy. He was happy and thrilled that Lisbon was going to marry him. That's why this made no sense.
"Is this some kind of joke?" she asked her husband.
"I just came in here to see if he was still nervous. You know I told you that he had really been nervous, so I brought his tea just the way that he likes it. I had Teresa made it, and when I got here his suit was still hanging on it's hanger." he told her gesturing towards the closet.
"Patrick Jane would never leave Teresa at the alter. He would never do that, and he would never ever do it with a stupid "Dear John" letter. We have to call in Cho and get that guy Abbott up here, better yet we are two very well capable private detectives. We can find out what happened ourselves. Someone took him." Van Pelt deduced.
"Someone needs to get the boss. She would want to get on this immediately." Van Pelt stated falling back into old habits.
"Grace I don't think that I can be the one to go and tell the her he's not here. She's so happy, and she's probably dressed by now." Wayne explained.
"Get Kimball. He can tell her, I'll get Vega and Wylie up here and we can see if he left us a clue in this note." she sighed holding on to the letter a little tighter.
He was proud of himself. He didn't go without a fight. Lisbon had been teaching him self defense. She could really be so cute sometimes. Cho was also teaching him things, and when they came for him he tried, oh how he tried to put up a fight. The thing was they were too many of them and they were too strong. Before he knew it they had whacked him across one of his knees with something like a bat. Now he was in the trunk of a car. He didn't know the make or model but it had to be something pretty pricey, because there was enough for him and another body.
"Another body!" he felt himself shouting out loud.
He was both torn and relieved when he found out his hands weren't tied as he lie in the trunk. That meant they weren't afraid of him in anyway. He quickly took in the view of the woman, he couldn't see much because it was dark. He felt in the pocket of his jeans and coudln't believe that he still had his cellphone.
He pressed the power button and waited patiently for him to have service so he could call for help. He was disappointed when he saw that his SIM Card had been removed. He did have access to the flashlight app though, and he used that to see exactly what was going on in the trunk. He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the woman that lie unconscious beside him. It was Kristina Frye
