I'll start with telling you who I am before you hear my story. My name is Alexandra Collins and I have no siblings, just wanted to make that clear. People call me Alex for short.
I am 12 years old and am about to be 13.
Today is March 13th, the last day of 7th. I have a sleepover with my best friends, Claire, Miranda and Hanna tonight. It was the end of seventh-grade sleepover. We had sworn that every year on the last day of school we would have a sleepover.
We had met up in September and had become such close friends.
Anyways, enough about me. You are reading this to hear my story, not to hear useless information about my past. I could go on and on about my life but what's the point in hearing something so boring? Now the actual story begins.
I had just reached home from school on the last day of 7th grade. My dad was on a business trip and had gone to who knows where. My mom was at home.
"Mom, I'm home," I said as I entered the house, "I'm going upstairs."
"Alright honey."
I went upstairs and closed my bedroom door.
I was just reading a book when I thought I smelt smoke. At first I thought that it was just my mom cooking something but then the aura became stronger.
I went downstairs and everything seemed normal except the fact that the aura only seemed to get stronger.
I went to the kitchen. "Mom?" I said, but there was no reply.
I thought that she might be asleep so I went to wake her up.
I opened the door and what I saw next horrified me.
My mom and I were separated by a huge wall of fire. It had burnt the bed and the dresser.
"Mom!" I yelled, "Get out of here!"
The fire only seemed to get angrier that its victims were planning on escaping.
"Honey, I can't but you can. Get out of here!"
"No mom, not without you!"
"You have to! I can't get out! I'm trapped!"
"Mom get out through the window!"
"Okay, I'll try, we don't have much time. Now go!"
"Mom, if you don't make it-"
"Trust me, I will."
I left the room and went towards the door. On my way fire started in the living room and kept on burning the furniture which blocked me.
I was too shocked to even think about how I was feeling.
I got out and went towards the window.
My mom was nowhere in sight. I slowly started crying and fell down on the smooth, soft grass.
I knew it, I thought.
"Alex." I heard my mom say.
"Mom?" I said through the blurry tears.
"Honey, it's okay, I'm safe, we're safe."
I nodded. I thought I saw a black, hooded figure around the corner of my house. I only got a glimpse of him before he disappeared and everything went black.
