HOOK

Emma sat next to me at her parents dinner table. Charming was across from her and Snow was on her other side. Charming was glaring at me and not looking away. Emma was holding my hand under the table. Snow looked excited.
"Mr. and Mrs. Charming, I wanted to come here tonight so I could, um, ask permission to, uh, date your daughter, Emma." Emma was smiling and I was blushing, a lot.
"Of course you can!" Snow cried out.
"Now wait just a minute, we should sort things out Snow. We can't just go around letting Emma date random guys. We should look into him." Charming was talking as if I wasn't sitting right there. I glanced nervously around and at Emma. She was looking frustrated.
"David, come on. Seriously, I think I can handle him if he ever tries anything." She tightened her grip on my hand. Her foot slid over mine and our legs touched. I was trying to avoid blushing in any way, but I was at the brink of laughter right now. Emma does that to everyone. I don't know how, it's her second superpower. She can bring laughter to the dreariest occasion.
"If he truly makes you happy, I guess it's okay. As long as you watch him. Hook, can I have a chat with you in the hall?" I imagine my hand was shaking under Emma's. Snow was trying to hide her smile.
"Is that really necessary?" Emma said.
"Yes, Emma. He needs to know the rules." Charming stood up from the table. I also got up, still shaking. I followed him in into the hallway.
"Listen you pirate scum, if I had it my way, you wouldn't lay a finger on my daughter. You seem to make her happy, and Snow approves of you, so I'll suck it up, for now. One slip up and I push you out of Storybrooke. You have to be loyal to her and kind. If you are cheating on her, or make her cry for some reason, I will kick you to Neverland. Understood?" My throat was dry.
"Yes, sir." He smiled and walked back inside.
"Hook and I are understood." He sat next to Snow. Snow smiled and so did Emma.
"Great! Hook and I are going out." She stood up and grabbed her coat.
"Wait, what? You just had dinner. You shouldn't go out again when it's this late out. Someone could mug you." Charming was disapproving of everything.
"Well, as nice as this dinner was, it was the most awkward thing of my life. So we're going to try and forget it. As for those muggers, they better watch out." Emma shot a spark out of her hand. She pulled me out the door before Charming could protest again.
"So glad to be out of that." Emma put her arm around me. I did the same to her.
"I suppose that dinner was a little put off, since we've already been dating and all." I said to Emma.
"Oh, I guess. But they don't need to know that." She looked up at me and smiled and I leaned down and kissed her.
