'Kura-kun! Don't forget your lunch!'
'Yes, Mom. I'll see you after school.'
'Have a great first day, sweetie,' she waved goodbye as I left our quaint apartment.
My parents and I recently relocated from our hometown in Kyoto to the busy and bustling city, Tokyo. Dad still wouldn't tell Mum or I the reason for the relocation. Because of his rash decision, our family had to leave everything behind. I sighed as I hopped down the stairs. The environment here is very different from what I am used to in Kyoto. Everything just seems a little bit more dark, more dull. I walked across the intersection and reached my new school: Tenkai High School.
I sighed and adjusted my uniform before walking into the compounds. Feeling nervous and unsure of what to expect, I headed towards the general office before getting escorted to my new classroom. I looked in and saw a sea of rowdy students playing with one another.
'Class, attention!' Yamoto sensei yelled and the class immediately settled down. 'We have a new classmate today. Please introduce yourself.'
I turned towards the class. 'My name is Kurayami Seo. Nice to meet you all.'
'Alright, go and sit behind Akira-chan,' he nonchalantly pointed to the corner of the classroom.
After sitting down, the girl in front of me immediately turned around. 'Hi! I'm Akira Hiro! Nice to meet you!'
'H-Hi, hope we can be friends,' I smiled.
'Since you're new here, I'll give you a breakdown about what's going on in class!' Akira grinned.
'Oh, okay? What's there to know?'
'Hmm, well there are many things that you need to know. Like, Toki-kun- I mean, Toki Shimura. He's one of the biggest bullies in our class! Such a meanie!' Akira pouted.
'Does he bully you?'
'Wow, it's your first day and you already want to protect me?' Akira giggled.
'I-It's not like that, I was just curious,' I stammered.
'Well, he doesn't really bully girls, so you may need to watch out. He just thinks he's a big shot since the Shimura family owns a big corporation here in the city. But the even bigger fish would be Sena Fujiwara,' she pointed at a raven-haired girl who was talking to two other boys.
'Huh, why is she scarier? She looks like an average high school girl,'
'Don't you know? The Fujiwara clan is one of the biggest samurai clans that still exist in Japan! She looks nice now but she's very scary,' Akira shivered.
I turned to take a look at Sena. She seems like a quiet person but does not seem as scary as Akira called her out to be. Suddenly, Sena turned to me and we made eye contact. I immediately blushed and turned back to Akira. 'She didn't see me staring right?'
'She definitely caught you staring. You're so dead, her two bodyguards will beat you up,' Akira giggled.
'Hello!' another girl walked up to my table. 'I'm Suki Nara! Nice to meet you!'
'Hey, Suki-chan!' Akira smiled brightly and hugged her friend.
'Hello, nice to meet you,' I smiled.
'What were you two talking about?' Suki tilted her head.
'Fujiwara-san and how Kurayami-kun just stared at her,' Akira gave her a short recap.
'Oh no, her bodyguards will beat you up. If not, Fujiwara-san will beat you up herself and that's even worse,' Suki turned to me.
'I-Is she that scary?'
