Mia has never been the adventurous type. She mostly stayed home or spent time with her best friend or family chilling in front of the TV.
"Oh come on. This will be so much fun." Mia's best friend Tina tries to convince her that a blind date for will be the best thing she will ever experience in her entire life.
"You never go out. How are you supposed to find a man to satisfy your needs? You do have needs?" Tina's annoying questions make her blood boil.
"Of course I have but you do know that you don't necessarily need a man to satisfy those."
Tina rolled her eyes at this. "It's a fun thing to do. And you won't even see the man for real if you don't want to."
"What? How can I not see the date? Is he hidden behind a wall or what?" Her tone is still cold.
"No, but the lights will be out!"
Mia raised an eyebrow, emphasizing her suspicion. Therefore her friend continues to explain to her the "special" blind date, one of her favorite restaurants will be holding.
"It's a 'dinner in the dark' slash blind date thing. You pay for the meal but not the company. Well theoretically you can also go for it as a couple but its purpose is to bring people together without seeing each other."
Mia processes the data she had been given by her bestie.
"So, I get to have dinner in my favorite restaurant but do not have to dress up to the nines and if I don't like the company, I can just ignore it."
"Plus, you will not be irritated if he isn't your type because you won't see him."
Slowly but surely Mia likes the idea. She loves good food and has wondered sometimes if it will taste different when you don't see what you are eating.
"Okay fine. I'm in." She informs her friend minutes later. Tina is already hyper, making plans to go shopping and how she should do her makeup.
"You do realize that the man in front of me won't see me so no need for all this."
"What's the fun in that? And maybe you will like the company?"
"Don't get your hopes too high on that. I'm only in because of the food."Two days later, Tina whirlwinds around her friend. She insisted that she will make her hair and makeup even if Mia has told her several times that she doesn't want to. But for the peace of it all, she agreed, knowing her friend will not let it be. They have been shopping earlier in the day. Mia was not convinced that the dress was necessary for this but Tina complimented her, telling her the dress fitted her curves in the best way possible. So she agreed and is now trapped in this body-fitting red mini-dress that highlights her feminine parts to the best. She is surprised when she takes a glance at herself in the mirror at the back of her door. She doesn't look anything like the girl that woke up this morning. However, she can not deny that she likes what she sees. Maybe she should put more effort into herself sometimes.
Eight o'clock, Mia is waiting in a room full of women of all ages and appearances. They all seem nervous and she is kind of baffled why. She was very calm only thinking about the great food she can devour shortly. The waiter, she does know very well as she comes here often, comes to pick her up and escort her to a secluded room arranged for this event.
"Hey, Miiiiiaaaaa." He accentuates her name while checking her out. "Looking good today."
She doesn't like that he has put his arms around her.
"Hello, Jeremy. Well, just know that this whole thing wasn't my idea." She rolls her eyes trying her best to get out of his grip.
