After Mr. Aizawa's psych out the day before, Ochako had hoped the next day would be more lax. Nope! On her second day at U.A, she's been thrown into the deep end with a combat exercise, where she and her teammate were properly thrashed.
Ochako lay with three busted ribs, a broken arm and multiple bruises, but her partner got the worst of it. She looked over to the bed opposite her. There lay Kyoka Jiro.
Jiro's hero costume was near shredded. Her pale skin was peppered with burns and scrapes. She had the horrible luck to end up fighting Bakugo, the resident demon of class 1-A. Neither Ochako or Jiro's quirks were suited for direct battle. Up against Bakugo and Iida, they really stood no chance.
"What was Allmight thinking?" Ochako groaned.
Jiro coughed before groaning.
"I'm sorry, Jiro. If I acted quicker--"
Jiro stopped her. She spoke in a low, husky voice.
"Don't be ridiculous. I didn't have my stuff together either."
"We gotta work on our fighting skills, though." Jiro added.
Ochako nodded in agreement.
"You think Iida would be willing to teach us?" Jiro questioned.
"I think so. He seems like the type."
Recovery Girl stepped in to their room. The small, elderly woman walked slowly, shaking her head.
"My, my, you girls really got worked over." She teased in her overly chipper voice.
Ochako flushed and Jiro grimaced.
"I hear you were up against Satan and the bookworm. Don't feel too bad. You are at school. Work hard and you'll improve, I'm sure of it."
Ochako thought of the boy who helped her during the exam. He would've blown them both away. He might've been able to blow the entire class away. She hadn't seen him anywhere around school, but there was no way he didn't pass the exam with the power he wielded. There was an empty seat in class right behined Bakugo, so she held out hope.
Recovery Girl's lips stretched from her face to kiss both girls on their cheeks. They felt an energy rush through their bodies and then lost consciousness.
They both awoke several hours later. Recovery Girl's quirk wasn't instant or omni-powerful. It took advantage of the body's natural healing ability, which, of course, takes energy. Healing the multiple abrasions, burns and broken bones took many hours of constant sleep and a number of IV bags each.
Ochako found her self looking into Jiro's violet irises. The silence was broken by Jiro.
"What time is it?" She asked groggily.
"Three-thirty." Ochako answered.
Jiro sighed, before forcing herself out of bed.
"I gotta get home."
Ochako slid off the bed as well.
"Same."
That was a lie. Ochako lived by herself as her parents worked various freelance construction jobs all over japan. Ochako simply didn't want to be alone. She was going to this prestigious school now and had lost the few friends she had. She was hoping to make something happen by the end of the second day.
Ochako and Jiro strolled the lengths of U.A's hallways. Ochako found her eyes lingering on Jiro.
Jiro was an inch or two shorter than her. She had silky blue-violet hair cut into a short, asymmetrical bob. Despite her blank expression, she fiddled with the audio jacks at the end of her earlobes, as if she were nervous. Jiro had a slim yet shapely figure, highlighted by the tight elastic pants of her hero costume.
