About a month later
I paced in my room inside the Ark. I was antsy and couldn't get a release. I was bored out of mind, having nothing to do that I haven't done already. I wanted to go out and hunt and just take in nature but of course my mother wouldn't let me go anywhere. Being the chancellor's daughter sucked horribly. Someone knocked on my door suddenly and I opened it quickly.
"What?" I asked rudely.
"Sheesh Clarke, calm down. It's just me." Raven said. I looked down at the ground and she walked in.
"I'm sorry Raven, my anger is not with you. I just want to get out of here." I said, while lowering myself onto the cold metal bed. I'd rather sleep on the hard ground than this bed right now.
"Well you might just be in luck. I have a note from the commander." Raven wiggled the piece of paper in her hand and I quickly snatched it from her. This was the first time I had heard from Lexa since the war.
Clarke,
It is time to discuss a treaty. Everything at Tondc has calmed down and the rebuilding process is going along nicely. I'm currently in Polis but by time you get this letter I will already be on my way to Tondc. I hope you are well. I'd like you to come to Tondc so we could discuss more. On the first half moon, I will send riders to your camp who will escort you to Tondc. Talk to your people about the treaty. We are no threat to you.
Lexa."What does it say?" Raven asks. I folded the letter up and placed it under my pillow.
"She wants to discuss a treaty. I will be going to Tondc." I told her. Raven nodded solemnly.
"You know your mother isn't going to let you out of her sight right?" Raven asks.
"I don't care. She isn't the boss of me anymore. I'm going to see Lexa and try to protect my people." I said. Raven smirked at me.
"Calling her by her first name are we?" Raven teased. I threw my other pillow at her which she caught quickly. I pouted but she only laughed.
"It's alright Griffin, I won't tell anyone. But, wasn't Tondc that place that was bombed by the mountain men?" Raven asked. I nodded my head yes, thinking about that horrible day.
"They are in the process of rebuilding it. You know Raven, they probably could use your help around there. You should come with me." I offered. Raven was just as antsy as I was around here with nothing to be done.
"Sure! As long as it's okay with the commander." She shrugged her shoulders but I knew she was excited. I knew Lexa would be okay with it but I only hoped her people would be as well.
"I need to go talk to my mother. I'll see you later Raven." I left my room, walking through the corridors to my mothers room. I knocked loudly on her door. She opened the door with a smile. I rushed in, not wanting to take up precious time on a hug.
"What's wrong Clarke?" Abby asked.
"Nothing, for now. But I need to go to Tondc and talk to the commander. We have to discuss a treaty so we don't get ourselves killed." I said. Abby frowned at the mention of the commander but didn't say much for a moment.
"You don't need to go to Tondc. I could go or Kane could. You are not to leave camp Clarke." Abby spoke. I bristled with anger. Who gave her the right to keep me here?
"I don't want to be here mother. And we all know that Lexa will only listen to me, she trusts me." I spoke proudly. It was the truth, I could change whatever Lexa thought. Though, I hated being the one who could change her thoughts. I didn't want to be responsible for Lexa's actions.
"If I can get to Lexa, I can convince her not to wipe us out. Then, we wouldn't have a problem." I hated every word that came out of my mouth. It was a lie. Lexa would wipe us out if she wanted.I felt like I was using my closeness to Lexa to get what I wanted. And I hated that.
"Fine Clarke, but only this one time. Do it for your people." Abby said. I nodded my head but inside I felt like garbage. Here I was, doing something for my people once again. I sighed.
"Thanks mom. Riders will be here next week to pick me up. I'm also taking Raven with me, I wanted someone familiar to go with me on the trip." I informed her. She nodded her head and hugged me tightly. She was being oddly quiet though, which was unusual. I shook it off as nothing and left the room quickly. I found my room to be empty and I decided to just lay down on my bed. I pulled out Lexa's dagger and played with it lightly in my fingers. I was excited to see Lexa again, even if it was for a short period of time. I smiled at the thought of seeing the brunette again and fell asleep quickly, her dagger grasped in my hands, resting near my heart.
A week later
Today was the half moon. I was up and about, making sure I had what I needed for the trip. I packed extra clothes and looked at my gun resting on my bed. I didn't need it with me, it would cause trouble and I knew I was going to be safe. I placed Lexa's dagger in a sheath attached to my thigh. I closed my bag and went out of the Ark and saw my friends huddled in a group. They were talking in hushed voices but they stopped once I got closer.
"You ready to go Clarke?" Raven asked, a smile on her face. She was excited and it made me feel excited too.
"As ready as I ever will be." I said, not letting my emotions show. My friends didn't need to know that I was excited to see Lexa, and get away from them.
"Be safe Clarke." Bellamy hugged me but I did reciprocate the gesture. I pulled myself away from him as guards started yelling at the gate. I saw three horses walking towards the gate, with two grounders on top of them. They had another horse walking behind them, for me to ride to Tondc. Looks like Raven and I will have to share the horse.
"Come on Raven, let's go." I grabbed her hand and pulled her in the direction of the grounders. People around me were wary of the grounders but my mom had already informed them of the situation. I exited the gates quickly and helped Raven get up on the horse. The grounders didn't say anything to us as we gathered ourselves in the horse. I sat in front of Raven, my hands grasped onto the reigns. She wrapped her arms around my waist, scared for her life.
"Clarke you better not get us killed." Raven warned. I laughed quietly and turned the horse around. Her grip on me tightened and I almost couldn't breath. I followed the grounders as we rode in silence to Tondc. Raven relaxed slightly and I did too. My excited ness came back as we slowed down to a trot, and I knew that meant we were getting close. I couldn't wait to see Lexa again.
