"Jojo, Let me GO! Release me, think of what we two can achieve. You'd like a taste of eternity would you not!"

Dio looked up towards the man who currently cradled his head in his arms. The fire surrounding them slowly closing in.

"I can heal your wounds. You and Erina can live together, FOREVER!... Jojo!"

There was no response from Jonathan. Dio glanced up as far as his disembodied head could, looking into the man's eyes.

"No... it's too late... he's dead.." he shuddered out, a hint of fear in his voice.

Jonathan's body began to slump over the head it had in its grasp. With the fire drawing closer, Dio quickly used his tendril-like veins to remove Jonathan's head from its body and replacing it with his own within seconds. Tossing Jonathan's head towards the casket in the process.

"If only things could've gone differently, Jojo." He says glancing towards his foes head as he waits for Jonathan's body to respond to his commands.

It doesn't take long for the body to begin to respond, slowly he begins to move his newfound arms and legs gripping the crate behind him for support. Albeit a bit wobbly he can stand once again.

The fire is even closer now, the ship is to explode any minute. Dio quickly moves to open the second compartment in the casket as Erina had already shut and locked the first one. Once he got it opened he then grabs Jonathan's head from off of the boat floor and puts it into the secret compartment along with himself, shutting it just before the ship explodes.

He knows that the casket will survive the explosion, it was designed to withstand anything after all, but he still grips Jonathan's head out of reflex for security.

Feeling the casket jolt around from the explosion Dio clung to the head in his grasp tighter, silently scolding himself in the process.

"To think I'm clutching to your severed head as if I was a mere child clutching their teddy during a storm, quite absurd don't you think Jojo?" He mumbles to himself, it's not as if Jonathan could hear him. He is dead after all.

After a few moments the sounds from outside had dwindled and it now seemed as if the casket was now floating on the water. The only sounds that can be heard are from the child Erina saved from the boat. The casket may be mostly soundproof to the outside world, the two compartments on the inside are not however meaning the child's screams could be heard by Dio below.

"Can she not get that blasted child to cease its outrageous screams!" Dio whispers a yell to himself "That child is too bloody loud." He grips Jonathan's head tighter out of frustration.

If he could, he would yell at the woman above to shut the damn thing up, but if he were to do so that would also reveal that he had survived the ship's explosion, to which if they were to be rescued she would alert Speedwagon and thus the other Hamon users to his existence. So he decides to stay silent, he could tolerate the screaming for now.

After a few moments, a soft voice could be heard from above, along with a silent melody to it.

'Seems as if Erina decided that a screaming child is deafening to one's ears' Dio thought, a smirk appearing on his face. 'Took her long enough'.

The screaming slowly begins to fade away and the melody begins to grow a little louder.

Now, Dio thinks would be as good as ever to get some rest. Not that he needs it per se, but it's better than just staring into the black abyss that is the inside of the casket.

He shuts  his eyes and begins to fall into a dreamless sleep, listening to the peaceful melody that could be heard from Erina above.
