Katsuki believed he was prepared for almost anything that was to come after Aizawa announced the sports festival. He stared deeply into the mirror as tears slid down his skin. He was not as prepared as he had thought. He had his moves down. He was powerful. He was determined. What was he missing? A blank expression stared at him back in the mirror. Everything was going in his favor, yet he felt empty. The boy rarely cried, but somehow slow tears fell like melting ice. Bakugou's eyelids were heavy. Tired of everything he sighed. When he was alone he would reminisce about the world he had built around him. He was alone with walls that pushed others away, his own voice that shouted truthful lies, and alone with the disappointment he felt for himself; he was slowly dying. Wiping away the tears, post work out session, Katsuki returned to the dorms.

Kaminari munched on some takoyaki courtesy of a lost bet on Tokoyami's behalf. Kirishima looked at his best friend, laughing and crying at the same time from some joke that he made.

Kirishima was Katsuki's only true friend. Bakugou arrived at the scene. There was a serene, pleasant air about the place whenever Kirishima was there. He never really  had to stress about the red head since he was one of the most competent people there... So why did he?

"Hey Bakugou!" Kirishima said with excitement. Katsuki was at ease.

"Train with me." Katsuki was always blunt about  what he said. Everyone will eventually find out what your intent and true opinions are eventually so why sugarcoat things. At least that's what Bakugou believed. Two pairs of red eyes met.

Kirishima stared intently at the intense blonde boy. "Sure. After school tomorrow. You're on. But don't get mad when I beat you."

"Tch. As if." Is all that the blonde uttered. He grinned at the redhead and the ordeal came to a halt.

Kirishima's quirk could harden his body so it was a great quirk to train with. His mind was powerful. Paired with his resilience, his quirk was a scary thing to behold. Of course Bakugou appreciated this. Kirishima was strong. Katsuki wasn't. Muscles only get you so far.

Bakugou laid in bed. The redhead was strong, stupidly strong. A lone owl flew down from it's post.

The training center was virtually empty except for the few students spread about the facility. A fist tightened along with another. Kiri had this stupid pose he did where he clenched his fists and punched them together. It was not necessary, but it had clearly left an impression on bakugou because  he was doing it too.

"Hey that's my pose, man." He lit up a little bit. The blonde did too. Bakugou couldn't tell if it was him or the adrenaline, but his heart raced a bit faster.

Rushing in for the first hit, Kirishima took the upperhand. His arm was hardened and balled into a fist. Having fast reflexes was and advantage even though Bakugo barley dodged that punch.

Bakugou let an explosion out of his palm. It was not a direct hit to the other boy nor did it do much damage as his quirk was activated, but he was still hit. Bakugou tried to analyze Kirishima's strategy along with trying to stay true to his own.

Hit after hit they went back and forth. Katsuki  paused for a second. That was his mistake. A direct hit knocked him off of his feet. Damn Kiri had gotten good.

"See I told you I'd win." With a ginormous grin, Kirishima  extended his arm to help Katsuki up.

He was being cocky, but there was something soft about him that was hard to identify. It put Bakugou at ease. He accepted the hand up.

Bakugou notes how strong that Kirishima had become since the internship with that one fat hero and the shy elf kid.

The blonde was strong himself. He knew that, but he looked his weakness in the eye. This weakness was also so comforting. It seemed to nourish all of the emotions Bakugou had tried to ignore and rid of. He looked at it and smiled at it. Kirishima smiled back.

"You know it would be pretty manly if you took me for beef ramen since I won." He put his arm around Bakugou's shoulders. At this point balsty was used to it. Kiri had a cheeky fucking grin. It was great.

"Tch... Sure shitty hair."
